Carteret County public school students rank among the top in the state when it comes to passing the N. C. Computer Skills Competency Test. Our school system remains proactive in providing technology assets for students and staff. Currently, we have a student to instructional computer ratio of 1:2.5. All computers are networked, have Internet access and are equipped with software. Students and staff have data folders that reside on school servers. Survey results show on average our students utilized computers in school more than 66,915 times each week. Additional computers are used by teachers, staff and administrators.

    NC State Athletics to Support Hurricane Relief Wolfpack to work in conjunction with American Red Cross. Aug. 31, 2005 RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State athletics department has answered the call for help from the areas of our nation devastated by Hurricane Katrina. At Sunday night's football game against Virginia Tech, student-athletes from almost every one of NC State's varsity squads will be volunteering their time to collect funds for Hurricane victims. "Our prayers and thoughts are with all the folks who are going through this tragedy," said athletics director Lee Fowler . "Many of our student-athletes, coaches and staff have asked if they could do something to help, and I'm proud that they are willing to donate their time to this worthy effort."
