Mohonasen observes National Constitution Day Throughout the week of September 12, and especially on Friday, September 16, students and faculty throughout the district engaged in activities and discussions as they observed the first Constitution Day. Federal law designates September 17 as National Constitution Day and requires schools to observe this day. Since the date falls on Saturday, many classrooms were busy with activities on Friday. From a constitutional scavenger hunt on the internet and constitutional trivia to analyzing song lyrics and reciting the Preamble to the Constitution, there were a multitude of ways students learned about the Constitution.

Mark you calendar for the summer 2006 Information Session and check back to this site. "For someone like me who waits all day to have a little free time to write, the writing program was heaven. We had all day every day for four weeks just devoted to writing. We had three different teachers dedicated to helping us develop our own style. What could be better? There were no restrictions and we could be as free as we wanted in our writing. We wrote poetry, short stories and screenplays. My classmates came from all over the country and they were very supportive with feedback. The small classes were great and so were the one-on-one conferences with my teachers, all writers. This was my best summer so far. "
