History
Buffalo, like many other Polonian enclaves at the turn of the 20th century, saw a division in the ranks of the Roman Catholic parishes it founded. An Independent Polish Catholic parish was first established in Buffalo in Aug 1895, when a rejected group of parishioners at St. Adalbert's Parish decided to form a separate church just a block away. These discontented souls were forced to decide their own fate when their demands were rejected by the Bishop and his advisors. The separation was a matter of personalities and parish ownership rather than a matter of faith and doctrine. On land purchased along Sobieski St., the first Mass was celebrated by Rev. Kolaszewski, an invited Independent priest from Cleveland, Ohio for the members of Holy Mother of the Rosary Parish. Two weeks later, the Rev. Antoni Klawitter, the founder of St. Adalbert's Parish returned to Buffalo at the invitation of the Sobieski St. congregation. Although his stay was short, he laid the foundation for the future of the parish. Klawitter was followed by a very colorful and zealous man, Stefan Kaminski, who arrived at the parish from Freeland, PA. For the next 15 years, the history of the parish was full of conflict and growth. That same year, 1896, a synod made up of Independent parishes in the area and elsewhere, elected Kaminski as their Bishop. Under his direction, the magnificent Gothic cathedral of Medina sandstone was erected and pompously dedicated in 1906.

Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation Some Churches in New York State Offer Free HIV Testing During Church Hours August 12, 2003 More than 10 churches in Rochester, Syracuse and Buffalo, N.Y., recently participated in a statewide program designed to raise HIV/AIDS awareness in the African-American community by offering free HIV testing during church hours, the Albany Times Union reports. As part of the effort, the Buffalo-based Group Ministries organized "Breakthrough Sunday," in which several pastors agreed to undergo HIV testing in front of their congregations. The initiative was prompted by the rising number of HIV/AIDS cases in the African-American community, according to Michelle Boyd, community organizer for Group Ministries (Willingham, Albany Times Union , 8/11). YWAM New York Team Travels to London to Pray for Bombing Victims
Posted: Wednesday, August 3 , 2005, 8:30 (UK) People rode the Underground to Edgware Road for the first time since London's July 7 suicide bombings, but for shopkeepers in the vibrant Muslim neighbourhood a return to normality is slow in coming.(AFP/File/Adrian Dennis)
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) New York will send a team to London on 7th August to pray for the victims of the London Underground bombings last month. They are to offer comfort to the people of London through a listening ear and praying for their needs.
The six members in the team are YWAM New York Metro volunteers. They are originated from different countries: Korea, Britain, Holland and three others from America. They plan to set up "Prayer Stations" outside entrances of the Underground stations where the attacks took place. Three locations are confirmed so far: King's Cross, Edgeware, and Liverpool Street stations.
After the terrorist attacks in London Underground, metro services across the world have upgraded their security measures. Especially in New York, the security forces have been tense regarding the threat of terrorist attacks. The atmosphere in the Metro station has become very anxious and there is anxiety among the citizens.

Revelation 13: Places to visit cathedrals, churches, New Age sites, Mystical Places and Sacred Sites
Some recommended Mystical Places and Sacred Sites, and places to visit, relevant to the New Age/Bible Prophecy ideas, and New Age Geography and Geographical Coordinates ideas, expressed on this Revelation 13 web site. I also think that these places may be "energy vortexes", as Sedona Arizona is said to be, where there is a positive energy which can help you physically and spiritually, by visiting them.
(1)Washington D.C., National Cathedral: If you travel to Washington D.C., don't miss going to the National Cathedral . It is run by the Episcopalian Church, which is appropriate because they are in a middle ground between Catholic and Protestant. But they have made this a truly American church open to all faiths, they are the caretakers of what is meant to be a truly National Cathedral. Some branches of American Christianity appear to be very open to the idea of a universal religion and respect for other faiths, particularly the Episcopalians and the Universalist/Unitarians. The National Cathedral is one of the 10 largest Cathedrals in the world.
(2) New York City: Another even larger cathedral is the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. Be sure to visit it if you go to New York City.

New York has an incredible range of renowned religious institutions, notable for their history, architecture, and/or inspirational music. I've listed two of Harlem's premier gospel institutions; if you would rather go to one of these gospel services in the company of a knowledgeable guide. Additionally, if you would like to hear the rousing gospel of the four-time Grammy Award-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir If you do plan to attend a gospel service, be prepared to stay for the entire 1 1/2- to 2-hour service. It is impolite to exit early. (Services are extremely popular, so you'll find it just plain difficult to leave before the end, anyway.) Click the names below for more detailed information.

State of New York
One of the thirteen colonies of Great Britain, which on 4 July, 1776, adopted the Declaration of Independence and became the United States of America.
BOUNDARIES AND AREA
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
The physical geography of the State has been an important factor in its growth. The easy communication afforded by its great rivers and its convenient waterways has made it the favoured highway for domestic trade and commerce and emigration for more than a century, while its possession of the greatest seaport of the North Atlantic Ocean has made the State the principal gateway for the world's trade with North America. The ice-free and deep-channelled port of New York, lying at the mouth of the Hudson River, with its wide roadsteads and anchorages and vast transportation facilities is indeed the greatest property of the State of New York. The port has a total water front of 444 miles.
MEANS OF COMMUNICATION
The means of communication within the State are admirable.

Book Information About the book Reviews Churches and Urban Government in Detroit and New York, 1895-1994
Henry J. Pratt
Preface by Ronald Brown
Beginning in the 1890s, the social gospel movement and its secular counterpart, the Progressive movement, set the stage for powerful church and city governance connections. Churches and Urban Government compares the governing styles of Detroit and New York from 1895 to 1994 and looks at the steps city-wide religious bodies took to advance and influence their communities and their local government. Emphasizing the role of Black churches, Henry J. Pratt examines how immigration, the Great Depression, and the Civil Rights movement all nurtured this developing link between religion and politics, helping churches evolve into leadership roles within these metropolitan centers. "There is simply no other work I know of that explores the connections of church federations and urban governance. The book offers new perspectives on urban politics and religion and politics . . . The use of archival material and personal interviews is refreshing and adds significantly to the book"
