REFERENDUM PRESENTATION (Windows Media Player) W elcome to Tenafly High School's Lalor Library Media Center 2005. Every school day students and teachers can be observed utilizing some part of our facility's 10,000+ centrally located square feet. A continuing goal is to fill this area with updated material and useful equipment. Many thanks to all of those helping to support this very exciting and satisfying cause.
I n
T enafly High School's library media center program is designed to provide a location and facilities where students have a useful, welcoming, and pleasant wide open space filled with works and displays which can inspire and encourage knowing and liking the world. This is a space where students, either individually or in groups, can deeply explore subjects learned through their classroom experience or subject areas that may be of personal interest. Students are invited to use this school library media center to further their study, broaden and deepen their minds, and express their creativity with the hopes that they will use knowledge to be kind, and on behalf of the world we share.

Did you know facts about libraries?

The media center is a service agency offered to all students. Students are encouraged to utilize the facilities and resources of the media center for its effectiveness is developed through use. Hours of Service The media center is open daily during school each day. In addition, it is also open after school Monday and Wednesday until 3:15 pm. Transportation after school is provided. Attendance As students at Delsea High School, it is a privilege to use the media center. Media center attendance is made possible by several different means:
  • Individual - During any classroom period, your teacher may allow you to use the media center by issuing a media center pass during the classroom period. After receiving the pass students should come directly to the media center. Students should report to the circulation desk to sign in and have their passes verified by the media specialist. When signing the media center log book, students must neatly print their full name, grade, date, and the period. Reminder: Students must have a pass! In addition, passes are issued from the academic teacher and not by studyhall teachers.

Wyckoff's Public Schools are among the best in Bergen County. There are four elementary schools servicing kindergarten through grade five. Enrollment in these schools ranges from 331 to 438 students, with an average class size of approximately 22. The elementary schools are Calvin Coolidge, Abraham Lincoln, Sicomac and George Washington. Dwight D. Eisenhower, the middle school, houses grades six, seven and eight and has an enrollment of approximately 724 students. The average class size is about 24. Click here for the Wyckoff School System homepage The Board of Education, administration and faculty believe that the schools exist for the benefit of each student regardless of his or her capacity for learning, that each student has a unique set of needs which must be met, and that it is the purpose of the schools to help each student reach his or her potential intellectually, socially and emotionally. Each school offers a variety of academic, cultural, aesthetic, enrichment and remedial programs to meet the diverse needs of the students. Among these are: academically gifted and talented program, talented art program, guidance services from pre-school screening through high school orientation, library/media center services, resource center instruction, special education classes for students with special needs, and speech/language therapy. Each school has a computer room which provides opportunities for students to become familiar with the use of computers. For the past several years the emphasis for curriculum and instruction in the Wyckoff Schools has been on learning content more through critical thinking and problem solving strategies than through rote learning of facts. Students have increasingly been required to apply and demonstrate what they know. Through performance tasks, demonstrations and portfolios, students show they can apply what they have learned.
