Weare Middle School, a rural, 5th through 8th grade school, is a learning institution whose charge is a commitment to maintaining a positive school climate, ensuring a consistent connection to the families we serve, and embedding Literacy in all of our academic programs. Our Middle and High School is across the street from us and there is a city named Laconia nearby. We live in a rural area with many mountains and woods around us. The total area of Gilford is 50.9 square miles, 38.3 square miles of land and 12.6 miles of water. There is about 12 miles of shoreline on Lake Winnipesaukee. The permanent population is around 7,000. The seasonal population is 12,000 +/-. We live in a region that has all four seasons. It's warm in the summer and cold in the winter. The average summer temperatures are in the 80's. The winter temperatures are usually in the 20's with much snow. The wind is strong in the fall. The springs in Gilford are cool and windy with lots of mud. We love the spring because it's Maple Syrup time.

About Nottingham School
Nottingham is located about halfway between the seacoast and Concord, New Hampshire. The K-8 school has approximately 500 students, with an additional 200 high school students attending high school in several neighboring towns. A new K-8 school building was completed in 1995 and features large, well-designed classrooms and offices for support staff and administrators, as well as a large gym, a library, a music room, an art room, and a state-of-the-art computer lab.
