Deer taken with bow and arrow must be taken to the first open registration station within 24 hours. A conservation officer may request to see the head and hide within 48 hours of killing. No call is necessary for archery-killed deer. Archers must have their name and address on arrows. Fixed-blade broadheads cannot be less than 7/8 inches wide and not more than 1 1/2 inches wide. Retractable blade broadheads are permitted. Archers who have a regular hunting license may carry a firearm. A person with a regular hunting license may hunt with a bow and arrow for deer, but only during the regular firearms season for deer and in accordance with the regulations for taking deer with a firearm (see season dates). In this situation, the archer must follow deer wildlife management unit restrictions for the regular hunting season. Bear Brook Refuge, within Bear Brook State Park, is open only to archery hunting for deer. No firearms are allowed in Bear Brook Refuge.

Dear Representative Kurk, I am a homeschooler in NH, and I have some questions and concerns about HB518, an act relative to eligibility for youth operators’ licenses . I did not find out about the bill until after the House Transportation Committee hearing took place, and intend to contact committee members about these concerns, but first wanted to contact you and Representative Packard, the sponsors. HB518 would require " proof of ... current receipt of home education " in order for a student who is home educated to be issued a youth operator's license. I would like to know what, in your mind, constitutes proof. It may be helpful here to explain how home education is currently regulated in NH. Up to age 16, consistent with the compulsory attendance law, RSA 193:1 To me, this creates a potential problem. When the home education law was created 14 years ago, home educators conceded that, although the ultimate burden for ensuring a child receives an education rests with the parent, society has a stake in the outcome of that education, and they worked with legislators and school districts to create a law that was acceptable to all. Despite the lack of proof that regulation improves the outcome for home educated students (and proof is slowly accumulating that regulation has *no* effect), NH continues to regulate homeschooling up to the age of 16. Over the years, homeschoolers like myself have vehemently opposed any increase in regulation, and in fact, a bill submitted this year

Recent NFIB/New Hampshire victories: Defeated increased minimum wage
Legislation was introduced to raise the minimum wage to $6.65 an hour by July 2007. Through a hard-fought battle, NFIB/New Hampshire was able to block the increase. But supporters say they will be back next year, so we will need members' help again. NFIB successfully pushed to keep the minimum wage at the federal mandated level, thus allowing the people of New Hampshire and free enterprise to thrive by leaving wage negotiation in the hands of employer and employee. Protected members from out-of-state tax collectors
HB 92 now restricts the access of out-of-state government tax collection agencies to New Hampshire business records. In the future, out-of-state agencies seeking such access will be required to demonstrate a substantial nexus between the taxing state and the New Hampshire business before gaining access to small-business records. No longer will New Hampshire's border businesses be caught off guard by out-of-state tax collectors demanding that the business owner produce records and then hit him with high tax bills from out-of-state agencies.

On October 22, 1997, the federal Office of Management and Budget published the proposed regulations for the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act Amendments of 1997 (IDEA '97). Just one day later in Boston, Steve Kaplan , president of the Massachusetts School Psychologists Association, voiced his association's concerns to Assistant Secretary Judith Heumann at the first federally sponsored public hearing on the proposed regulations. Kaplan's testimony targeted the regulations that guide interagency agreements; he stressed the importance of school psychologists and other related service providers in understanding the school culture for effective IEP development and implementation. At the hearing, disability advocates commended Kaplan for his recommendations. School psychology was also represented at the hearing by NASP's Massachusetts Delegate, Terry Davis , and a past president of the New Hampshire association.
