    Streamlined college credit transfer process
The recent credit transfer articulation agreements between the New Hampshire Community Technical College System (NHCTCS) and University System of New Hampshire (USNH) achieve a comprehensive, integrated approach to transfer policy that provides a virtually seamless credit transfer process for many students. The agreement between the two systems applies to the Associate in Arts core curriculum and extends to specific disciplines and majors.
    Expanding education opportunities
While the agreements do not articulate every possible major, they do include majors commonly chosen by students that are offered by a number of institutions. The agreements allow students to begin their degree at a two-year NHCTCS college, build upon their academic performance and then transfer their credits to a four-year degree program at a USNH college or university. These "2 + 2" agreements are especially useful in technical and professional fields in which students gain technical skill competence first and then broaden their perspectives with more general education. Agreements can also facilitate transfer between different but complementary programs, such as healthcare provider and management.

Educational Partners Running Start General Info EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION Associate in Applied Science Offered in Manchester/Stratham The Early Childhood Education program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to create a positive learning environment for young children, one that is nurturing and fosters creativity. Teachers who work with young children in high quality programs understand how young children grow and learn, and how to provide materials and activities that are developmentally and interest-appropriate. The Early Childhood Education programs on both campuses are designed to prepare individuals as competent professionals. Graduates meet the New Hampshire Child Care Licensing requirements for a lead teacher and center director (with some job-related experience). The campuses offer flexibility in scheduling and course and career options. A 12 credit Certificate is designed for those students interested in meeting the minimum licensure requirements to be a child care teacher as well as qualifying one to be a family home child care provider. The Diploma program will offer a "stopping off" point for students who wish to complete approximately half of the associate degree, with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education courses. The Stratham campus offers an early Childhood Early Intervention option, providing specific skills for child care with disabled children as well as non-disabled children.

          Government, Politics, and Higher Education
New Hampshire's constitution, adopted in 1784, is the second oldest in the country. New Hampshire is the only state in which amendments to the constitution must be proposed by convention; once every seven years a popular vote determines the necessity for constitutional revision. The state's executive branch is headed by a governor and five powerful administrative officers called councillors. The governor is elected for a two-year term and is traditionally limited to two successive terms. Perhaps the most unusual feature of New Hampshire politics is the size of its bicameral legislature (General Court), one of the largest representative bodies in the English-speaking world, with 24 senators and 400 representatives, all elected for two years. The state elects two senators and two representatives to the U.S. Congress and has four electoral votes.
