Trail Canada Guide to New Brunswick
The tranquil bi-lingual Maritime province The heavily forested maritime province of New Brunswick lies between Nova Scotia and Quebec. The Saint John River valley runs south along the west of the province through the industrial city of Saint John into the Bay of Fundy. Here the world's highest tides are very apparent, especially at the Reversing Falls where the tide change is so dramatic it causes rapids in the river mouth which change direction with the tide. The province's capital, Fredericton, is a small city of under 45,000 residents and lies in the heart of the province on the Saint John River. Moncton is the gateway to both Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia making it a popular transport stop over. Most of the north of the province is mountainous while the south and along the Saint John River, farming and pastoral lands occupy much of the dramatic views.

    http://www.real-estate-2000.com/new_brunswick.htm
New Brunswick Real Estate Welcome to the Canada Real Estate Directory. New Brunswick is bounded on the west by the state of Maine, on the north by the province of Québec, and on the southeast by Nova Scotia. To the northeast lies Chaleur Bay (Baie des Chaleurs). To the east are the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Northumberland Strait, which separates New Brunswick from Prince Edward Island. To the south is the Bay of Fundy. Fredericton is the provincial capital, and Saint John is the largest city. The difficult terrain of New Brunswick severely restricts its range of economic activities. Only in very limited areas is it possible to pursue agriculture, and there are only a few crops that can be grown. The lack of agricultural opportunity has led some inhabitants of New Brunswick to look to the sea and to the forest and mineral resources of the province for a livelihood. New Brunswick’s primary industries supply most of the raw materials used by its manufacturers. Service industries, including the important tourist industry, are the leading sources of employment, followed by manufacturing and trade. A 2001 real estate survey has estimated the population of New Brunswick at 730,000. Realtors, click here to register on this site.

Only five Canadian provinces have counties: Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Price Edward Island). British Columbia has Regional districts. While working on NAVA's Canadian municipal flags project, this caused confusion in at least one case: Alberta has some "counties", though these are large rural municipalities, not another level of administration. The situation is indeed less complex in other provinces, because Quebec is the largest, second most populated province, has vast northern territories, and has the oldest settlement history.
