The two founding luminaries of New Age are a couple fruitcake women, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (particularly, with her Secret Doctrine ), and Alice Bailey (often writing as "Djwahl Kuhl", claiming to be channeling a demon spirit by that name - her collected works are here ). Bailey's most widely noted tract is The Externalization of the Hierarchy . Hannah Newman, in an essay included below ("Masters of the Blinding Light: What Jewish People Should Know About the New Age"), reminds us that ``Hitler kept a copy of Blavatsky's 'The Secret Doctrine' by his bedside, ever since being introduced to its teachings by Dietrich Eckart and Karl Haushofer.'' For an extant example of this authority structure, observe the topology of modern committees (Bilderberg and Bohemian Grove at the apex (though even they are just vehicles for the agenda of the nuclear establishment), and immediately below them the TLC, CFR, RIIA, COA, etc.) and the modern banking and boardroom topologies. These are in fact hierarchies of consensus-driven unions cryptically commanded from above - precisely the sort of hybridization described above. Note that committees are never actually blob-like, but in fact all have internal power structure in detail, so that in fact the command hierarchy still has an individual granularity, which is simply camouflaged by the committee organization.

Home Page Document Page Revealing The New Age Movement New Age Vocabulary B elow are several Christian terms that the New Age has twisted and perverted, along with a few terms unique to the New Age lexicon. Author Texe Marrs has taken the liberty of revealing the hidden New Age meaning of each.
  • God: An impersonal energy force, immanent in all things. To the New Age, "god" can be referred to either as she or he, mother or father, god or goddess. Most New Age teachers hold that Mother Earth, the sun, the moon, and the stars - indeed all of nature - can be worshipped as "god."
  • Christ: A reincarnated avatar, Messiah, or messenger sent from the "hierarchy" (see Angels below) to give the living on earth spiritually advanced revelation. The New Age contends that Buddha, Mohammed, Confucius, Jesus, and many others were "christs,"

Hindu gods, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, New Age are they all the same?
By Marilyn Adamson
Email article to a friend
Download PDF version We all want to make it through life with some degree of success, some sense that we did it right. And if others think they know how life can be satisfying, even meaningful, it's at least worth checking out. What about the major world religions? Is there anything in them that would give our lives greater stability and value? The following is an opportunity to look into the major world faith systems...Hinduism, New Age, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity.* Included is a brief description of each, its distinguishing characteristics, and what a person can gain from each. The author then presents for your consideration the ways in which Jesus' teaching differs from the world's religions. *Each of these systems has sects with differing beliefs. The description given here focuses on the heart of that system. Other major religions, such as Judaism, could be discussed, but for brevity, we have chosen these.
Hinduism
Most Hindus worship one Being of ultimate oneness (Brahman) through infinite representations of gods and goddesses, over 300,000 of them. These various manifestations of gods and goddesses become incarnate within idols, temples, gurus, rivers, animals, etc.

Belief Beyond Boundaries Research Group
About the Research Group: Belief Beyond Boundaries was established as a research group in the Department of Religious Studies at the Open University at the end of 2000, and is supported by the Department. It aims to invite exploration of questions relating to the centrality of belief boundaries between the 'alternative' and the 'mainstream' at historical, institutional, definitional, traditional, geographical, methodological, and transnational levels. The group intends to facilitate the production of research in those religions and spiritual groups which fall outside the remit of mainstream or traditional religion (as temporally or geographically defined), both contemporary and historically, constituting observable religion outside what is conventionally regarded as religion. Such religions include (but are not limited to): Paganism; New Age; New Religious Movements; spiritualism; traditionally Eastern beliefs in a Western setting (e.g. Western Buddhism); Hinduism and Islam in diaspora; vernacular religion; diaspora religion. The group will also explore topics (e.g. civil religion and Celtic spirituality) that represent significant bridges between the 'alternative' and the 'mainstream', and thus provide a basis for testing boundaries. Interdisciplinarity is strongly encouraged, along with the development of inter-institutional and international contacts, collaborative projects, network formation and mutual support. Research will be facilitated through regular seminars held at Walton Hall and other locations, and through national and international conferences.

Oak View Elementary The Middle Ages were mostly about the development of life in Europe. It's geography was good for many settlers. Take a look at our map, which includes our description of the geography of Europe! During the Middle Ages, most people lived a harsh life. They lived in war from the Viking attacks that killed many people during the beginning of the Middle Ages to the Crusades , a series of religious wars. They used many interesting weapons Many soldiers and knights died during the Middle Ages. A lot of people died from bad water and diseases like smallpox, too. After the Vikings attacked, people couldn't feel safe without a guard, so a new type of governing society was used, called feudalism . Under this sytem, the nobles had a great and luxurious life. The serfs had a rough life, working in the fields and not being free. In return though, they were protected from the Vikings by their lord. The lives of the kings, queens and nobles were very different from the serfs and peasants. They even ate different food The people were very religious and they were very strict with their religion . Europeans were mostly Christian, although there were mythical characters like dragons and unicorns. People often gave up riches to the church, which made the churches wealthy and powerful. The churches also had a big influence on

  • art history and archaeology history or language and literature
They are also expected to do course work in the other fields. In certain cases the program may also provide a framework for students wishing to cross the somewhat arbitrary temporal, topical, and geographical boundaries of medieval studies in order to consider such problems as relationship between classical and medieval literature or art or the broader history of the preindustrial European studies. send questions to: dsierpinski@wesleyan.edu Above image is from a photograph of the tile floor in the Abbot's Parlor (Abbey of Saint-Jean-des-Vignes, Soissons)

Is Head Start program being turned into a government funded Sunday school? In a completely unconstitutional move, House republicans yesterday decided it was perfectly fine for head start teachers to practice preferential hiring in regards to religion. The bill will allow churches running Head Start programs to discriminate on the basis of religion without risking federal cash.
