Do you have any information on the Stewart Indian School In Carson City?
Q. My grandfather died and left me with a 1906 stock certificate for a Goldfield mine. Is it worth anything? A. There were 331 mining companies incorporated in Nevada in 1906 that began with the word "Goldfield." If a corporation is still active, the record is at the Secretary of State's office. If the State Archives has the incorporation record, the company ceased to exist a long time ago. The Nevada Secretary of State's office is the office of record for all corporations formed in Nevada. Settlement Of Price-Fixing Lawsuit Provides 665,000 CDs Valued At $9 Million April 25, 2005
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(SACRAMENTO) – Attorney General Bill Lockyer announced more than 1,200 California library districts, school districts, colleges and universities today will start receiving 665,000 free compact discs (CD) valued at $9 million from the settlement of a price-fixing lawsuit that also provided consumers $67.4 million in refunds.
"Music adds great value to our lives, and these free CDs will substantially benefit our children, students and communities," said Lockyer. "This is a fitting end to a case brought to hold accountable music distributors and retailers who conspired to stifle competition and inflate prices for consumers."
The CDs encompass a wide variety of genres, including pop, hip-hop, rock, jazz, blues, country, Latin, classical, children's songs and show tunes. Under the allocation formula, 171 library districts will receive 55 percent of the CDs, 960 K-12 school districts will receive 40 percent, and 93 college districts and universities will receive five percent.
Each K-12 school site will receive an average of 29 CDs, while libraries will obtain roughly 65 percent of the pop titles. Libraries are receiving the most CDs and pop titles because they serve the largest general public population.

Nevada Attorney General Promotes Alcohol Education Among High School Seniors Using 'Virtual' World of Alcohol 101(r)
From: Leslie Mills of The Century Council, 202-637-0077 John Albrecht of Attorney General's Office, 775-688-1818 Tom Sargent, Public Information Officer, 775-684-1114 RENO, Nevada, Feb. 26 Today Nevada Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa announced more than 6,000 Alcohol 101(r) interactive CD-ROMs have been mailed to parents of graduating high school seniors in Nevada to provide students with additional tools necessary to make responsible decisions about beverage alcohol. A copy of the CD-ROM was also delivered to each of the lead counselors at all Nevada high schools. The Alcohol 101(r) program was created by The Century Council, a national not-for-profit organization funded by America's leading distillers, in collaboration with University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A founding member of The Century Council, Guinness UDV, brought the Alcohol 101(r) CD-ROM to Attorney General Del Papa's attention. "I know parents want to do all they can to prepare their sons and daughters for the challenges they will face as independent adults. Upon graduating from high school, the availability of beverage alcohol, the absence of parents, and the desire to fit in with new friends have the potential to bring about risky behaviors concerning beverage alcohol," said Attorney General Del Papa. "I am encouraged that Guinness UDV introduced me to the program and it is my hope that, by sending the Alcohol 101(r) program to graduating high school seniors and their parents, these young adults will have the tools to necessary to make responsible choices about drinking."

Biography Senator John Ensign has served the people of Nevada from his days as a veterinarian, small business owner, and U.S. Congressman to his present role as the 24th U.S. Senator for Nevada. Senator Ensign was raised in northern Nevada and moved to southern Nevada where he graduated from Clark High School. He attended UNLV and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 1985. Senator Ensign immediately began practicing veterinary medicine and opened the first 24-hour animal hospital in Las Vegas. Throughout his career, Ensign has fought for smaller, more effective government; lower taxes; a strong national defense and aggressive approach to combating terrorists; increased parental control in education choices; and quality health care for Nevada's seniors and veterans. Senator Ensign was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2000 and serves on the following committees: Armed Services; Budget; Commerce, Science and Transportation; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP); and Veterans Affairs. Ensign is Chairman of the Readiness and Management Support Subcommittee of the Armed Services Committee and of the Subcommittee on Technology, Innovation and Competitiveness of the Commerce Committee. In addition, Senator Ensign chairs the Republican High Tech Task Force and serves as Vice Chairman of the Republican Steering Committee, a group that shapes the party’s legislative agenda.
