Religion Of Nepal
Religious practices are an important part of the lives of the Nepalese people. Mythologies of various Hindu gods and goddesses abound in this country and Cultural values are based (11 the philosophies of holy books like the Gita, Ramayana, etc).
Women and children visit neighborhood shrines at dawn to offer worship to the gods. Holding plates of rice, flowers, and vermilion powder, they perform puja by lighting incense, ringing the temple bell, and applying tika, 'a red paste, on their foreheads. Passers-by stop at temples and show their reverence to the gods by spending a few minutes praying. Occasionally, groups of' men sit near temples playing music and singing hymns until late night.
In Nepal, Hinduism and Buddhism are the two main religions. The two have co-existed down the ages and many Hindu temples share the same complex as, Buddhist shrines. Hindu and Buddhist worshippers may regard the same god with different names while performing religious rites.

Nepal is a land of ancient history with a rich cultural heritage. This is a land of Himalaya having a colorful culture and different traditions which are seen mingling and blending in harmony with each other in the birth place of Lord Buddha. But, there is more to Nepal than the mountains; art and architecture, national parks and wildlife, and an astonishing variety of flora and fauna. Most important, is the unforgettable smiling faces of the Nepali people with their warm hospitalities from the sub-tropical Terai to the world's highest mountains. City Culture
In the cities of the Kathmandu - Valley, Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhadgaon, a high-standing, city culture with own house style, developed by the Newar, shows up three levels. With their paved close angular roads with at least three leveled houses, temples and workstations we are reminded of us well-known medieval cities.
The house consists of framework (with brick filling), whose heavy wooden skeleton from permanent Sal wood manufactured and with rich ornaments is provided. Windows and door frames are particularly beautifully operated. In the ground floor is usually a business or a workshop. The kitchen is direct under the roof, in order to prevent that someone can soil the ritual purity of the kitchen from the outside. The smoke pulls by joints in the roof, usually with burned bricks or slates covered, seals it in such a way and keeps vermin away. Converted inner courts are to be entered from the road.
