Welcome to my website about my way of living.
Since August 1999, when I went to the United States of America to do an internship for my mechanical engineering degree, I got hit by the travel virus. From that moment on I tried to be as much as possible abroad and discover the world. Not only by backpacking but also to work abroad. This gives me a great opportunity to learn a lot of the cultures and habits.
Down here you read where I have been and what I have done so far.

It is the third largest Chinese province (over 1.1 million square kilometers or 424,736 square miles) but not very populated. The province has about 24 million inhabitants. Many ethnic groups are living in this area including Mongolian, Daur, Oroqen, Ewenki, Hui, Han, Korea and Manchu. Hohhot is the capital of Inner Mongolia. When to go Climate in Inner Mongolia is very different during the year. Winter is cold and can be very long, with frequent blizzards. Usually summer is short and warm. The climate changes from arid to semi-humid from west to east, and to humid in the northeast. The annual rainfall is 80 - 450 millimeters, also increasing from west to east. The main feature of the climate here is that the different in temperature between days and nights is very big, so tourists should wear layer of clothes when traveling here. What to see Inner Mongolia has a peculiar natural scenery, long history and brilliant culture. There are many historic sites in this area. Some of the key historic sites are:

The area which is now Mongolia was administered by China from the early eighteenth century as the province of Outer Mongolia. The province of Inner Mongolia, to the southeast, is still part of China. From around 1800, Qing Chinese rule became more and more oppressive, both within China and in Mongolia. The increasingly corrupt rulers exacted high taxes, exploited the peasants and brutally punished the slightest offence or resistance. When a small military uprising in central China expanded into a short-lived nationwide rebellion in 1911, the Mongol princes saw their chance and declared independence under the 8th Jebtzun Damba (Living Buddha). China reluctantly recognised Monolia’s independence in 1915, but after the 1917 Russian revolution weakened Mongolia’s strong neighbour, Chinese troops invaded Mongolia and reoccupied Ulaanbaatar in 1919. Retreating White Russian (anti-communist) troops expelled the Chinese in February 1921, but treated the Mongolians just as badly. Mongolian nationalists, seeing the advance of the Bolshevik (Russian communist) army, called on them for help, and together they recaptured Ulaanbaatar just 5 months after the White Russian troops had taken it over. While Mongolia’s Buddhist leader remained as figurehead during his lifetime, the newly formed Mongolian People’s Revolution Party took over the government, and in 1924 Mongolia became the world’s second communist country.

These remote mountains and valleys are rich in surface archaeology: burial mounds from the late Bronze and Iron Ages, great stone altars (khereksur) from the Bronze and early Iron Ages, and ritual sites and stone images from the Turkic period. This region also includes some of the finest and largest petroglyphic complexes in North Asia. In addition, project members have recorded extensive petroglyphs and Turkic ritual sites; deer stones; Turkic images and ritual altars and khereksur, and a great number of other scattered Turkic images, standing stones, and deer stones.
Through this process of recording and documenting, the Project is gradually building a vivid picture o f the ecology of culture in the Mongolian Altay between the late Pleistocene (approximately 11,000 calendar year B.P.) and the Turkic period (first millennium C.E.).

Mongolia's re-elected leader pledges stability, growth
By staff and wire reports ULAAN BATAAR, Mongolia Mongolia's re-elected President Natsagiin Bagabandi has pledged to maintain political stability, improve the economy and reverse a nationwide decline in living standards. Bagabandi's Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) won 72 of 76 seats in Sunday's parliamentary elections. Following its landslide win, the MPRP promised to raise pensions and wages and to reorganize the rural herding economy to boost incomes for nomads dependent on sales of wool, leather, milk and meat. The party chairman, and Mongolia's prime minister, Nambar Enkhbayar also affirmed a commitment to allowing individuals to own private property and to maintain the nation's multiparty democracy Mongolia media reported. "The government of Mongolia will press forward democracy and market reforms, which are irrevocable. This is a duty," Enkhbayar said.
Total control
Local media reported MPRP, which was formerly a communist party, retained almost total control of parliament according to election results announced on Monday.

The World Bank in Mongolia
Mongolia's population is highly dispersed over the country's vast lands (1.5 people per square km), creating relatively significant needs for additional infrastructure, such as rails and roads. Maintenance of existing facilities requires a large amount of resources. Bank assistance to Mongolia is therefore dominated by loans to the energy and transport sectors. The World Bank is now exploring ways to strengthen its support for poverty assistance and social-sector work, in response to declining indicators for the country's social well-being. Mongolia joined the World Bank in February 1991, and to date it  has committed over US$325 million to the country, along with technical advice and assistance.  The Bank has successfully completed 12 lending projects with total budget of US$207.7 million. Currently, the total lending portfolio to Mongolia equals to US$118.2 million for 7 projects, and US$24 million planned for three new projects.
