The Department of Molecular Biology is a center for research in the life sciences at Princeton University. Housed mainly in four adjacent and connected buildings, it is home to 50 faculty and associated faculty, approximately 120 graduate students, 130 postdoctoral fellows, over 100 undergraduate majors, and more than 100 technical and administrative staff. This vibrant research community continues to expand its faculty, both within the Department and with new associated faculty in disciplines of Chemistry, Computer Science, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Engineering, Physics, and Psychology. The areas of focus in the department include the following Biochemistry and Cell Biology Biological Dynamics and Computational Biology Biomedicine and Societal Issues Biophysics and Structural Biology ... Graduate Program: The graduate program offers each entering student the opportunity, with the help of faculty advisors, to create an intellectual program that matches and supports his or her particular scientific interests. Princeton's commitment to a cutting-edge multidisciplinary approach to biology is highlighted by last year's opening of the new Carl Icahn Laboratory housing the Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics , the new program in Quantitatiive and Computational Biology , and the new initiatives in neuroscience.
