Visitor's night is on the first Wednesday of every month also at 7:30 to 10:00pm. The Ann Arbor Model Railroad Club (AAMRC) is located in the Michigan Central depot in the Village of Dexter, Michigan. The depot is owned by the Huron Valley Railroad Historical Society (HVRRHS), a non-profit organization established in 1980 to purchase, restore and maintain the building. The AAMRC and the HVRRHS share the building and use it to preserve railroad history and promote the hobby of model railroading. The depot was designated a historical structure by the Michigan State Historical Society as were the former track pans at Kinnear just one mile east of the depot. A dedication ceremony was held August 8, 1987, at which time a State Historical Marker was erected during a public gathering, that included hundreds of people who arrived by Amtrak on a special passenger train from Detroit and Ann Arbor. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions.

The Club was created in 1950 and originally began a layout in a storefront in the Ingleside district in San Francisco. In 1961 the building the club occupied was sold, and the Club was offered space in the basement of the Randall Museum , where it has been to this day. Our layout is the result of nearly forty years' effort to create a railroad in miniature with the communities it serves and combined with engineering and geographical features found on railroads in California. We have snowsheds on the high mountain line, various types of bridges spanning canyons on the Mountain Division and a narrow guage line. Our layout is HO scale and is contained in a room measuring 57 feet long by 38 feet wide. The mainline is about 600 feet long (nearly 10 scale miles), with an additional 200 feet or so of sidings and passing tracks (see Trackplan
We run a wide variety of equipment ranging from "transition era" (1938-1955) through the most modern equipment found on today's railroads. Several current members love passenger trains so we have modern Amtrak passenger trains, Union Pacific streamliners of the immediate post war era, as well as Southern Pacific's Coast Daylight.
Our freight trains range from long strings of wooden ice-bunker reefers behind Cab-Forward articulated steam engines to modern diesel powered double-stack container trains. The occasional long coal drag is seen as well.

Welcome to the NTRAK website! Here you will find all manner of information about N scale modular railroading including an explanation of just what it is, how to get started in it, and how to get connected to others who are involved with it. NTRAK Modules are tables that "C" clamp together to form large N scale train layouts at Conventions, Shopping Malls, Club Rooms, and as Home Layouts. The basic module is two feet wide, four feet long, and 40" high. There are adjustment bolts in the legs with an a two inch adjustment range. The three tracks are common to all modules and the same electrical connectors are used on all modules. This makes setting up layouts a quick job. There are optional sizes and track locations to give a great deal of flexibility to the system. Specifications for the modules are covered in detail in the 20 page "NTRAK Module Manual" and in the 100+ page "The NTRAK Module 'How-to' Book". Latest update on the HO and N Pioneer Zephyr Projects.
    Updated April 26th 2005
The HO Zephyr's are in final production and scheduled to leave the port of Hong Kong the last week of May. Then they take about a month to reach our Tucson warehouse, and it will take us 7-10 working days to get them all shipped out. So they should start to hit the stores about first few days of July. All the tooling for the "N" Zephyr is scheduled to be finished by early May, and we have been making flying changes in the "N" tooling using information learned from the HO models.. so they should be along 3-4 months after the HO models (fingers crossed).
You can find more info and pictures of the 1934 Pioneer Zephyr here.

    PSMRE MODEL RAILROAD:
    The History of Washington Railroading
    Comes to Life
The Puget Sound Model Railroad Engineers are constructing the largest model railroad installation in the state of Washington. An HO-scale (1:87) model representing local railroading in the 1950's, the 25' by 95' exhibit area provides a compressed view of local historical landmarks from Tacoma's Asarco Tunnel to Stampede Pass, with trackage and equipment from the Great Northern, Northern Pacific, Union Pacific and Milwaukee Road railroads. The exhibit is located in the History Lab Learning Center, on the 5th floor of the museum, and can be viewed during most normal operating hours. When no PSMRE operators are in attendance, four trains run automatically at the push of a button. Regularly-scheduled operating sessions occur the first Saturday of every month, running from noon to about 4:00pm. During these sessions, club members operate the model using "real railroad methods", running passenger trains and freight trains according to correct procedures. On duty is a dispatcher, who communicates with the train "crews" via radio. It can geta little hectic at times, bring the family and come on down to watch the dedicated volunteers from PSMRE bring the history of railroading in Washington back to life.
