It consists of early tax lists, Spanish land grants, census records, military records, and extractions from the HISTORY OF MISSOURI by Louis Houck. This is an on-going project with periodic updates. There are over 20,000 linked families as of July 1999. Coordination of data entry was done by the HANCOCK FAMILY ORGANIZATION , descendants of William Hancock who settled in St. Charles County in 1797.

The USGenWeb Project Welcome to the WWW home page for Boone County Missouri genealogy. We hope that the information provided on these pages will be useful in tracing your Missouri ancestors. We intend to continue to add information to these pages and to improve this site as much as possible. Your suggestions are always welcome and thank you for visiting our little corner of the WWW.
Because these pages are spreading wider and wider, it can be difficult to locate newly added information. Check out the updates page to see what has been changed or added recently. You can also search the pages for a particular name or place.
These pages are NOT part of and have NO affiliation with the Government of Boone County. These pages are created and maintained by a private organization which happens to be residing in Boone County Missouri. The use of the Boone County seal is not intended to mispresent the origin of the pages.
The county of Boone was formed on 16 November 1820 as a territorial county emerging from the vastly larger territorial county of Howard and for a time being known as part of "Boone's Lick Country". This county was named in honor of the famous Kentucky explorer

P.O. Box 343, Arcadia, MO 63621 Email The Iron County Genealogy Society is dedicated to the research of family, preserving records, transcribing and making genealogy data available to everyone. The society was formed in July of 2000. We grew to fifty members by the December meeting. The need for a genealogy society was great and Jeanette Henson McClure decided it was time to organize a local Iron County Genealogy Society. Her efforts have been a success. Membership is $15.00 per year, you get a membership card, and a monthly newsletter. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at the Ozark Regional Library in Ironton, Missouri, at 7 P.M. Executive board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month. Newsletters are published monthly and are full of great information. Any member wishing to place queries, advertise a publication, or other information pertaining to genealogy can mail these items to publicatons and they will be printed as space allows. Enjoy our web pages and feel free to contact us with comments and suggestions to President Jeanette Henson McClure, Publications Sharon Hackworth. To contact the above members click on their names and please place "Iron Co Genealogy Society" in subject line when contacting members.

Welcome To Benton County
Missouri
Benton County was created 1835. North of the Osage River came from Pettis County,
south of the Osage from Greene County. In 1841, a northwest section was returned to
Pettis County, and Niangua Township became part of Kinderhook (Camden) County.
The north half of Hickory County was formed from southern Benton County in 1845,
and the boundaries of Benton County Mo have remained unchanged since that time. ( Townships are shown on the 'Benton County 1930' map - see below )
My name is Homer R. Ficken and I'm the Benton County host. If you would like to contribute
data for this page, please let me know. The USGenWeb and MOGenWeb Projects
are non-commercial, all-volunteer organizations. (I don't live in Missouri but can sometimes help - see Lookups page)
