The Proprietary School Advisory Committee (PSAC): Section 173.614, RSMo; The Presidential Advisory Committee (PAC): Section 11;73.005.3, RSMo; The Missouri Advisory Council of Certification for Educators (MACCE): Section 168.015, RSMo. The Video Advisory Committee (VAC): Section 170.250, RSMo. The International Economic Development Exchange Program Advisory Committee (IEDEP): Section 173.264, RSMo. Who serves on the committee, board, work group, etc.? PSAC: The statute clearly dictates that "individual proprietors, general partners of partnerships, or managerial employees of proprietary schools" are eligible for membership on the committee. MACCE: Section 168.015, RSMo. The "Missouri Advisory Council of Certification for Educators," hereinafter known as the "advisory council," shall be composed of twenty-five members to be appointed by the State Board of Education on the recommendation of the Commissioner of Education. Of the twenty‑five members of the council, fifteen must be active public school classroom teachers. IEDEP: The "International Economic Development Exchange Program Advisory Committee" shall consist of five members, to be appointed by the director of the department of economic development. Effective September 1, 1995
I. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
  • A baccalaureate degree from a college or university having a teacher education program approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Must have recommendation of designated official for teacher education in the college or university. Must have an overall grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Must complete the National Teacher Exam (NTE) Specialty Area Test in the major area with a score equal to the Missouri qualifying score. If a Missouri Specialty Area Test is not offered in the major area, the Professional Knowledge Test is required with a score equal to the Missouri qualifying score. Completion of General Education and Professional Requirements as determined by the recommending college or university, which may exceed these minimum requirements.
  • II. GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
    • Humanities Must include at least one course* from two of the following fields: Music (excluding applied music), Art, Foreign Language, Western and non-western Cultures, Philosophy, Literature, Classical Studies, and Theatre and Drama. Communication Skills Must include at least two courses* in English Composition and one in Oral Communications.
