Computer Tutor
Purpose: Assist senior center participants in using Internet-connected computers at center. Help seniors surf the Internet, send e-mail and work on personal projects. Responsibilities:
  • Attend orientation session. Become familiar with capabilities of computers at the Skyway Senior Center. Help seniors use the computers for sending and receiving e-mail or to browse the Internet. Assist seniors who want to use standard Microsoft software for personal projects. Users will bring their own discs or CDs to save their work. Limit users to 30-minute appointments on the computers.
Qualifications:
Must have a friendly manner, good communication skills and be sensitive to the needs of older adults. Must be patient and have ability to explain how to use the center computers and software. Must have prior computer experience and know how to use the Internet, how to send e-mail messages and how to use a standard Microsoft office software package. Time Commitment:
Hours are flexible. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
