Minnesota Genealogical Journal - semi-annual publication of Park Genealogical Books
Contents:
Every issue of the Minnesota Genealogical Journal (MGJ) contains 100 pages of record extracts and transcriptions relating to Minnesota genealogy and local history, from newspapers, county courthouses, public and private manuscripts, and collections of interest to genealogists. Many predate Minnesota statehood, and almost all predate 1900. Many of the records are from original, unpublished, not microfilmed records, usable only at the repositories that hold them. For example, the marriage records published for Blue Earth, Lake, and Wabasha Counties are not available on microfilm through the Family History Libraries, nor were they included in the WPA lists of records for those counties. Records cover all of present day Minnesota, as well as those areas that governed the area prior to statehood, such as records from the Wisconsin Territory prior to 1849, as well as from counties along the Minnesota borders. Newspaper extracts include persons from Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Manitoba, North and South Dakota, and more distant places if they show a connection to any of those areas.
Contributors:
No one person could compile all the information published in the Journal.
