WMGS Manuscripts A listing of the surnames that appear in the Western Michigan Genealogical Society Manuscripts Collection. This collection has been accumulated over WMGS' 50 years and is housed at the Grand Rapids Public Library.

Black Monument Company A listing of names in the Order Books of the Black Monument Company, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Records in this database indicate the names and dates that were placed on grave markers ordered from the Black Monument Company, and shows what cemetery the marker was placed in. Now also contains 1,974 names and places from a brochure that was published by the Black Monument Company as an advertisement about "our satisfied customers".

Birth records are available only to the individual named on the birth record (registrant), the parents of the registrant, a legal guardian of the registrant, a legal representative of the registrant or an heir of the registrant. An heir is defined as any relative of a deceased individual. Heirs must supply the date and place of death of the registrant when requesting a copy. This policy is in accordance with MCL 333.2882 Deaths: 1868 to present Marriages: 1868 to present Divorces: Certified copies are $10.00 for certified page plus $1.00 each additional page. True copies are $1.00 per page
