Welcome to my Web Site edwardoo@msn.com By living in the immediacy of Virginia’s Chancellorsville Battlefield, one cannot help become engrossed in the history of this large confrontation between the States, and other battle areas, in the area of Fredericksburg Virginia. This page although not professionally written or extraordinary in comparison to others, provides photographs and brief descriptions of relics the writer excavated and gathered from the area of Virginia’s Civil War Battlefields of Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania Courthouse, and Chancellorsville. I’d like to make note of Judy’s section because in some areas I believe her creativity exceptional. I may add, Judy is my wife. - Edward Usonis - Bullets Buttons Buckles Weaponry ... Judy's Stuff

PLACES TO HUNT
Good Places To Hunt: parks ball fields const. sites depots fair grounds camping areas old picnic areas lawns schools churches old fishing spots swimming holes sledding areas ski slopes sand pits sidewalk construction fence rows creek beds RR Tracks club houses under bridges lovers lanes old movie theatres demolition sites under deer stands bus stations under park benches around old trees rock parking lots Click 4 More TIP OF THE WEEK - My suggested tip of the week is this...When hunting old parks take a good look at the lay of the land. A big open area at one time may have had shade trees that people used to picnic under or just relax and read...this would be a good place to search for lost coins. Look for big shallow depressions in the ground that may indicate a large tree may have once stood there and been removed later after dying or being struck by lightning....I have found many interesting and valuable coins to add to my collection this way..good luck and happy hunting...Dave Savage

What is metal detecting?
It is simply finding metal items such as coins, rings, badges etc. buried in the first few inches of earth. The hobby takes you away from your normal daily routine and lets you go out into the fresh air, where with the use of other advanced electronic wizardry, (the metal detector) you can have gentle exercise, enjoy nature and see what your ancestors left behind for you to find. Once at home you can share the information about your finds with others at the coffee shop, at work, at club meetings or on the Internet and learn from fellow enthusiasts about their most recent discoveries.

There are always signs of other detectors being there recently, it has been hunted to death! The only thing I ever found there was a 1955 wheat.
For some time, there has been a rumor there is going to be a grade school built there, and it will all be under blacktop.
