Our school was named after a prominent civic and business leader who lived from 1866-1944. Outside, there is a playground, a basketball court, Slocum Brook, and a forest which is home to a flock of wild turkeys. Inside, there's so much going on. We have parent-funded programs, including PE, music, and dramatic and visual arts. Our library is amazing as is our health program supported by Faulkner Hospital. Our science and technology center is home to many animals and computers. During the year there are special events like Birthday Book assemblies, the Winter Festival, the Science Expo, and Math Night. We go on field trips to the Science Museum, Sturbridge Village, Paul Revere's House, and many other places.

School Supplies Collection for Katrina
A box for collecting school supplies to send to children affected by Hurricane Katrina will be placed in the lobby starting today. Any kind of school supplies for children ages 5 - 15 would be helpful: binders, glue, pens, crayons, rulers, scissors, paper, old backpacks, etc. Think about what your sister or brother would like or need if they had to start school in a new location and could not bring anything. All donations will be sent to Project Backpack and handed out to children in the gulf coast region. The box will be available from Wednesday September 14th until Wednesday September 21st.

"COMMUNITY BUILD"
on Saturday, October 15th, 2005
This fall, we, the community, will be building our very own playground with professional supervision and guidance from the playground vendor we choose. We are fortunate to have skilled professionals, from the Framingham Community, volunteer to donate their time, but we, the less skilled, will make up the majority of the labor force. The school Buildings and Grounds Department will be working to prepare the site for construction over the summer.

Dr. Richard H. Moser
Superintendent of Schools WELCOME TO THE 2005–06 SCHOOL YEAR! The summer of 2005 has passed by very quickly; however our school system is anticipating a positive beginning to the school year on September 7, 2005. Several changes over the summer include:
  • Colleen Beaudoin, an experienced educator from the Tyngsboro Public Schools has been appointed to the position of Principal of the Harrington Elementary School. Colleen has substantive experience teaching at the elementary school level and more recent experience as a middle school curriculum coordinator and assistant principal. We welcome Colleen to the Chelmsford school community and look forward to her work at the Harrington Elementary School. Michael LaCava, an experienced music educator from the Gardner Public Schools has been appointed to the position of Curriculum Coordinator for Fine Arts K–12. Michael's work in Gardner has been exemplary, including his affiliation with state-wide professional organizations.
