  • Printed Version. The cost of each custom-produced title is little more than it would cost to photocopy each volume - only 11¢ per page ( 9¢ per page for books over 1,000 pages) for a professionally photocopied volume. A 250 page book would cost you only $27.50. There is a minimum price of $10.95 per title. We think that you'll agree that's a reasonable price for custom printing of an out-of-print title. Welcome amateur astronomer number
After I read about the Cycle 2 call for amateur proposals to use the Hubble in late 1990 I devoted 7 months researching and preparing for it. I then submitted my proposal back in early 1991 for AMATUER use of the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope to research the atmosphere of Saturn's largest moon Titan and after a long anxious wait it was ACCEPTED in 1993. This is what the application looked like Using spectroscopy I researched Titan's atmosphere in the middle ultraviolet (UV) spectrum using the Hubble's Goddard High Resolution Spectrograph (HRS/GHRS) . This method is also called reflectance spectroscopy since I am seeing a reflection of our Sun on Titan and most of my spectra is the Sun. The compound I was (and still am) searching for is formaldehyde (CH O) remember that "stinky" gas from your biology class with those specimens you dissected ? Well thats what I'm looking for. While I was researching I found a connection with

We are interested in how othe libaries have done this (using smart bar-codes). In particular we like to hear success dtories from those who felt their projects were done efficiently, with minimum hassle and inconvenience. Of course, we are interested in horror stories too, especially those that focus on what to avoid so as not to meet horror! Please, reply personally to me, and let me know if we may contact you for further information. Thanks. Nic Fontem nfontem at capaccess.org

If need be you can recover your photocopying/printing costs by charging for each one. Any profit should be donated to our international solidarity fund. Dear all: (This page will remain in place until the 2006 General Assembly. Share it with everyone you know with Internet Access or print it and let them see for themself!) As you know, the Maryland General Assembly closed its 2005 Legislative Session midnight on April 12, 2005. Use this page to obtain updates, final legislative documents, and important information about the 2005 Maryland General Assembly. For more detail, or if you want to obtain a copy of the bill to learn which House of Delegate or Senate member(s) sponsored which bills, you should visit the Maryland General Assembly web site at http://mlis.state.md.us and search for the box where you will insert the bill number according to instructions to pull us a copy of the bill. What you should know about your legislators: There are State Senators and House of Delegates. Each Maryland Senator represents a Legislative District. Therefore, Maryland has

Parent Advisory Team
by Pat Montgomery When we formulated the idea for having parents as advisors to Clonlara School staff last spring, we anticipated having a team of, say, nine. The call went out at our annual conference last June and the response was immediate, and abundant: 27 parents volunteered for the job. As if that weren’t blessing enough, they soon organized themselves into a functioning group with Geraldine Drake as chairperson.
The Parent Advisory Team (PAT) members reside in several states. They collectively have children who span the age ranges from 5 through 19 years. They have been enrolled in Clonlara School for a minimum of three consecutive years. They represent a good cross section of enrollees—industrious ones, to boot. The tasks that PAT emembers have embraced (so far) are:
  • describe Clonlara's program t new, inquiring families serves as a Clonlara presence on the internet distribute Clonlara materials in local bookstores and libaries speak with the media (when Clonlara fields such a request) make contact with newly-enrolling families as a welcoming gesture alert staff when conferences are held in various states volunteer to speak/man tables at conferences arrange a Clonlara conference in different states
The group accepted the challenge and set out to create a means of communication amongst its members—an email group set up for daily digest delivery.
