    General MOFGA Introduction:
Founded in 1971, MOFGA has grown from a loose affiliation of farmers and gardeners committed to growing healthy, chemical free food, to an internationally recognized advocate for food production that enhances and protects the ecological as well as economic vitality of rural communities. MOFGA's Mission statement: The mission of the association is to help farmers and gardeners grow organic food, to protect the environment, and to recycle natural resources; to increase local food production, to support rural communities, and to encourage sustainable farm economies; and to illuminate for consumers the connections between healthful food, environmentally sound farming practices, and vital local economies. While the group's key constituency consists of farmers and gardeners, the organization helps food producers of all kinds adopt organic practices. One of the oldest and largest organic organizations in the country, MOFGA has 4,000 individual, family and business members and possesses extensive education, research and policy experience on a complete range of organic as well as non-organic farming and gardening issues.
The Common Ground For many years MOFGA dreamed of creating a place that could serve as a permanent site for the Common Ground Country Fair as well as a living classroom and demonstration center for today's and tomorrow's farmers, gardeners and consumers. Thanks to the generosity, hard work and creative dedication of countless individuals and institutions, this dream has come true.

I am the father of a school-age child who has autism. This is a collection of Internet and other resources which parents of children with PDD PDD-NOS autism Asperger's Syndrome , or hyperlexia may find useful. All the information concerns teaching methods that are a branch of applied behavior analysis (ABA) called behavioral intervention . One of the methods is discrete trial training . Some (inaccurately) use the term " Lovaas method." We worked hard to get complete information, implement a program, and have our school system pay for it. My hope is to help spare other parents (and their children) some of the pain and wasted time we went through. Here are all the helpful resources I've found, with the best places to start marked . The essentials of starting a program for your child are marked to . Please also see the frequently asked questions about ABA and autism . For information on training or employment see the education and employment listings Why don't the links work?

It is by no means comprehensive, and will be periodically updated as new materials are located or accessioned. Please contact the staff with any questions. This list does not include material available in the main Library stacks. Please consult the on-line catalog for further information on these works. Many items sometimes used by genealogists are not mentioned within the detailed list; for the most part, these were not specific or involved too many family or individual names to be included. FOREWORD
Families of people who have serious mental illness need information. Sometimes that need is immediate and unexpected. Questions never considered become important, and important questions simply do not occur to inexperienced families. Even families who have lived with mental illness for years have questions. Those who move to new locations must learn new answers appropriate to their new setting. Questions abound and answers usually exist. But, too often, the search for answers requires more energy and persistence than a troubled family can muster. The Family Resource Guidebook provides practical answers to practical questions. It does not provide medical answers. The initial chapters are informational and discuss the basic facts about mental illness and its treatment. The Appendices and Mental Health Services-Regional Listings toward the back provide people with local names and numbers of services they will be needing. For more information on specific subjects, contact:
