The Macedonians are no exception and will be the subject of this series of articles. To properly reconstruct history, corroborating information from at least two sources must be obtained. One such source might be data collected from analyzing material finds like tombs, artifacts, relics and inscriptions, the type of information that can be derived from archeological research. Another source might be a body of literature derived from stories, legends, myths, folklore, poems, songs, etc. passed down from generation to generation. Unfortunately, for obvious reasons upon which I will expand, the reconstruction of the Macedonian history has been neglected and as a result has not achieved the desired maturity to be considered adequate.

Joseph, who now resides in Florida, was born in Lubojno, Macedonia. He immigrated to the United States in 1967, where he spent some time in Detroit and Chicago before finally settling in Miami. It reveals a pattern of abuse that is ignored by Macedonia's political leaders and tolerated by the international community. Macedonia's ethnic communitiesAlbanians, Turks, Roma, and Bulgarians, among others are especially susceptible to abuse. But violations cut across ethnic lines: all citizens of Macedonia have suffered violence at the hands of the police, as well as procedural violations, almost always with no recourse through the courts. The common characteristic of victims, rather than ethnicity, is usually the person's oppositional political activity or low social-economic status. The most serious abuse is the use of excessive force by the police at the time of arrest and the physical maltreatment of those in detention. Individuals are sometimes arrested without a warrant and beaten until they confess to a crime. Procedural violations are also commonplace. The zenith of the Macedonian kingdom, its unity, independence and predominance – political, military and economic – reached its apogee in the 4 th century BC when the famous Philip II ( – 336 B.C.) and Alexander III (356 - 323 B.C.) ruled the prestigious Kingdom of Macedonia the Great. After the dissolution of the Empire, the territory of Macedonia fell first under Roman and later under Byzantine rule.
