Dear Gordon, Thank you for your reply of Sunday. I checked my volumes titled DICTIONARY OF AMERICAN NAVAL FIGHTING SHIPS but could find no mention of the Kiu Kiang, then, when I read the article on Hong Neok Woo, I understood the reason why. That vessel was not in the Union Navy but was a merchant vessel. It was obviously a passenger vessel plying between the U.S. and China. Union Navy vessels names were prefixed by the initials USS, and they were commissioned for armed conflict. I do not have a list of all the merchant marine vessels of that period, but I am sure there would have been a lot more with Chinese names. However, merchant marine vessels and personnel are outside the scope of my research. Regards, Terry. Subj: More Union vessels with Chinese names.

For the last six years, I have spent each summer in Poland teaching what Jewish life was like in Krakow before the war, as well as relating my own experiences during the Holocaust. Through sharing my own story with hundreds of people, I hope to create "second generation witnesses."

In late summer, 2002, we disseminated a national survey to gather information about where training is taking place and what it encompasses. The following programs have responded to date and we will add to this list as we hear from others. Contact information can be found at the end of each program description. Arizona

The Harris Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Training Institute is a collaborative program between Southwest Human Development, a private nonprofit organization specializing in services for children birth to five, and Arizona State University's Department of Family and Human Development, which is launching an initiative to promote interdisciplinary research related to the social and emotional aspects of development for infants and toddlers. Arizona has the fastest rate of growth in the US for children under age five and the Harris Institute has assumed a pivotal role in the state's effort to make system-wide changes in the way this population is viewed and served, including increasing the number of well-qualified IMH clinicians in the region. The Institute consists of three levels of training programs, an infant mental health clinic and a consultation program.

The boat, which was under construction by the Delta Queen Steamboat Company, had enormously overrun budget estimates. Projected costs for the construction plans were about $27 million. In addition, parent company Overseas National Airways had suffered two catastrophic plane crashes. Coca-Cola's purchase of the company ensured plans for the Mississippi Queen would be carried out.
