Ticket To Work Benefits Planning Assistance Outreach Program (BPAO) Cooperative Agreements - Contact Information As authorized by the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999, the Social Security Administration (SSA) established a grant program called Benefits Planning, Assistance and Outreach (BPAO). Under this program, cooperative agreements (monetary awards) were granted to community-based organizations, called BPAO Projects, to provide all SSA beneficiaries with disabilities access to work incentives planning and assistance services. The Directory below lists BPAO contact and service information for every State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Commencement Day
RECORD During spring commencement ceremonies, LSU awarded a record number of University Medals to bachelor's degree recipients earning the highest grade point average. A total of 23 students graduated with a 4.0 average May 22. They gathered before the main ceremony in the Maravich Assembly Center for photos with Chancellor William L. Jenkins, far right. 2,300 graduate during spring ceremonies U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexis Herman spoke at LSU's 237th commencement exercises May 22, during which more than 2,300 students received degrees, one posthumously. Commencement Day activities included a main ceremony in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, where Herman spoke, and a ceremony for each college, where students received their diplomas individually. LSU Board of Supervisors member Victor Bussie introduced Herman.

Stockholders approved the board-restructuring proposal in a vote concluded on November 19 th. The approved bylaw changes include the following: Reduce the size of the board from the current 26 to 15-17 members; Combine existing board districts into three regions east, central and west with a total of 12 elected directors, four from each of the new regions; Provide for a maximum of three outside (no customer affiliation allowed) and two appointed (customer affiliation permitted) director positions; Extend director terms from three to four years, with a transition period to accomplish the staggering of terms to fully implement the new structure by January 2008; Conduct further reviews of the board structure in 2010, and at least every six years thereafter. A Board Restructuring Committee, comprised of six CoBank board directors and six CoBank customer representatives, had been formed in September 2003 to evaluate and examine the current board structure and develop recommendations.
