K-16 and Community Outreach
The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is designated by the U.S. Department of Education as one of sixteen Title VI National Resource Centers for Latin American Language and Area Studies. As such, CLACS provides extensive resources and services for K-16 educatorslocally, regionally and nationallyincorporating Latin America and the Caribbean in their teaching. In addition to educational outreach, CLACS links campus and community through its public programming, including the annual spring Latin American Film Series, and via the Community Outreach Small Grants program. CLACS is jointly funded with the Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies Program ( LACIS ) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison which also offers diverse outreach programming.

The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee develops, supports and promotes teaching, research and outreach about Latin America and the Caribbean. Services and resources are available to UWM faculty, staff and students; K-12 teachers and post-secondary educators; professional groups; and the community. CLACS seeks to promote informed, culturally sensitive perspectives for Wisconsin, the upper Midwest and the United States. Established in 1965, CLACS is designated a National Resource Center for Language and Area Studies by the U.S. Department of Education, jointly with the Latin American, Caribbean and Iberian Studies Program at UW-Madison.

Teacher Training Workshops Teacher training workshops on Latin America and the Caribbean are designed to enhance educators' abilities to teach about this world region and to assist teachers in incorporating Latin American and Caribbean content into primary and secondary school curriculum. The workshops are held on weekday evenings or Saturday mornings at the University of Pittsburgh.
