French Language Association The Academic French Association of BYU-Idaho is organized to assemble students from all French-speaking countries, those who are taking French as a minor, and every returned mission who has served a mission in any French-speaking country. Our second goal is to teach everyone about our cultural background such as our history, traditions, and way of life. Our third goal is to create a well-rounded environment where individuals might explore the language and see how a foreign language can help them throughout their lives when they travel or for any job opportunity.

http://www.acls.org
Founded in 1919, the ACLS now holds yearly meetings ( by invitation only ) consisting of a program of interest to the scholarly community that the ACLS represents. The Charles Homer Haskins Lecture takes place each year at the Annual Meeting in which lectures by distinguished senior scholars are delivered and subsequently published as ACLS Occasional Papers (see a listing of publications on the Website). The Annual Meeting is attended by representatives of the constituent societies and a limited guest list for a small number of additional meeting participants, who are invited to the Haskins Lecture and the public session. Many Canadian associations attend, and is relevant for art historians as it is important for coming in contact with interdisciplinary fields.
