I. Country Background
Kiribati is comprised of 33 islands, spread over a land mass of 726 sq km, with an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) covering 3.6 million sq km. Its capital is Tarawa and its major languages are English and Kiribati. Copra, fisheries and seaweed form the mainstay of the Kiribati economy.
