Interlibrary Loan Information
Library materials (generally books and journal articles) not owned by Brescia or available in the Owensboro area libraries may be requested through interlibrary loan services in a number of formats. FAQs about ordering material through Interlibrary Loan To request materials through this service, you must be currently enrolled or employed at Brescia University. Materials received from Kentucky libraries are free. All articles are free. If the book is received from an out-of-state library, there is a $1.00 charge to help cover postage costs, in addition to any charges leveled by the out-of-state library. If you order the material, you will be responsible for paying for it, regardless of the "Not needed after" date. If you need photocopies quickly, you may request that they be faxed. The charge is .10 per page. We will contact you through your Brescia email address when your material arrives.

Quilts The Kentucky Museum quilt collection is one of the finest public collections in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Composed of approximately 130 examples, these quilts include 70 piecework, 18 applique and two white or stuffed work textiles. The collection also includes twenty-seven crazy quilts and nine variations of the Log Cabin block. The majority of quilts were made between 1850 and 1900, but the time span covered extends from circa 1810 to 1989. Many popular pieced patterns are represented including Crossed T, Diamond Field, Double Wedding Ring, Sugar Loaf, Irish Chain, LeMoyne Star, Lone Star, Mariners Compass, Mosaic, and Tumbling Blocks. Rose of Sharon, Whig Rose, and Princess Feather are examples of traditional applique patterns found in the collection. Variations of the Log Cabin block include Sunshine and Shadow, Barn Raising and Pineapple.

Russell County
was formed in 1825. It is located in the Pennyrile region of the state. The elevation in the county ranges from 530 to 1140 feet above sea level. In 1990 the county population was 14,716 in a land area of 253 square miles, an average of 58.2 people per square mile. History of the County The eighty-first county in order of formation, Russell is located in south-central Kentucky and is bordered to the north by Casey , to the east by Pulaski, to the southeast by Wayne , to the south by Clinton , to the southwest by Cumberland , and to the northwest by Adair counties.
