Yesterday The SLD committed $1,185,328.64 in wave 33 and sent letters notifying 36 applicants of the status of their 2004 funding requests. The Majority of the funded requests were Puerto Rico applicants. The SLD still has $291,735,724 pending in 2004.
Funding Year 2005: Wave 11 Released Yesterday The SLD issued $11.6 million in commitments which brings the total committed amount for Funding Year 2005 to $590 million. The SLD advised that close to $335 million has been denied or canceled to date. Funding Year 2004: SLD Commits Another $1.3 Million Wave 32 included letters to 10 applicants notifying them the status of their 2004 funding requests. Thus far for Funding Year 2004 the SLD has committed close to $2.3 billion. Currently The SLD has approximately $286 million remaining in review. To date The SLD has only disbursed $622 million which is only 27% of the committed funds for 2004. Gray County Courthouse The Arkansas River has carved a huge valley across the county. Inside this valley, the landscape is rugged, but by going north or south you climb out onto flat plains. The river bed is sandy and lined with cottonwoods, but it is often dry. It's hard now to imagine building an irrigation canal from it, but the river was much larger a century ago.
