The Big 12 basketball tournaments will return to Dallas in 2006, the conference announced Tuesday, but the football and baseball championships won't return to the area for at least three years. The Big 12 presidents and chancellors approved championship sites only through the 2006-07 academic year, as the conference leaders decided to wait before awarding any other future sites because of new venues proposed in Dallas, Kansas City, Mo., and Tulsa, Okla. The Dec. 3, 2005, football title game returns to Houston's Reliant Stadium after being played at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium the last two years. Reliant Stadium was the host site of the 2002 Dr Pepper Football Championship. Kansas City then becomes the host for the Dec. 2, 2006, football title contest for the third time in four years at Arrowhead Stadium. | |
