Galyon and Francis were selected out of a group of 17 finalists for the district’s prestigious honor. Galyon is actively involved in the Australian Academy, Kilpatrick’s tutorial program, and is the co-director of mission control for S.E.E.K., a fifth grade after school space program. She also pilots a mainstreaming process for students ready to begin transition from instruction in Spanish to English. “Galyon represents the spirit of Kilpatrick and Katy ISD perfectly,” Carra Fleming, Kilpatrick’s principal, said. “She lights up a room simply by being in it, and her enthusiasm is contagious.”
