The Department of Justice, in conjunction with the FBI, the Air Force Office of Special Investigation, the National Aeronautic and Space Administration and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, announced today that the Israeli National Police arrested Ehud Tenebaum, an Israeli citizen, for illegally accessing computers belonging to the Israeli and United States governments, as well as hundreds of other commercial and educational systems in the United States and elsewhere. The arrest of Tenebaum culminates several weeks of investigation into a series of computer intrusions into United States military systems that occurred in February 1998. As part of this investigation, the Department of Justice formally requested legal assistance from the Israeli Ministry of Justice, and U.S. law enforcement agents traveled to Israel to present Israeli law enforcement officials with evidence of the magnitude and the source of the intrusions into United States computers. Attorney General Janet Reno said that the prompt arrest of the Israeli hacker demonstrates the effectiveness of international cooperation in cases involving transnational criminal conduct. She added that the U.S. government's efforts to investigate and prosecute computer crime are on the right track:

Israeli government decision aims to strip Palestinians of their properties in East Jerusalem By Meron Rappaport
Haaretz

January 20, 2005 The Sharon government implemented the Absentee Property Law in East Jerusalem last July, contrary to Israeli government policy, since Israeli law was extended to East Jerusalem after the Six Day War. The law means that thousands of Palestinians who live in the West Bank will lose ownership of their property in East Jerusalem. Government officials estimate the assets total thousands of dunam, while other estimates say they could add up to half of all East Jerusalem property. According to the law, absentee assets are transfered to the authority of the Custodian for Absentee Property, without the absentee being eligible for any compensation. When East Jerusalem came under Israeli law, then-attorney general Meir Shamgar directed that the law not be applied to West Bank residents who have property in the parts of East Jerusalem that became part of the State of Israel. Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin reissued that directive in 1993. Back to Top Print Article Email this Page Related Articles Additional Resources Organizations

I think you're impugning Sharansky's motives. Without a proper "Palestinian" goverment in place after Israel pulls out, Israel is essentially leaving behind an anti-Israel terrorist camp called the Gaza Strip.
I note that the concern is on leaving the settlers behind to defend themselves against the terror camp of the Gaza Strip. If the pullout was characterized as an evacuation phase preceeding a massive Israeli military strike against the Palestinians, either for terror or for error (It's not Israel's fault they rhyme) I could see my way to supporting it.
But it's not. Israel, by pulling out of Gaza and leaving the terrorist "state" intact, is deciding that HAMAS should dictate Israeli domestic policy.
