Contact Information The Islamic Art Network The Islamic Art Network is a project undertaken by the Thesaurus Islamicus Foundation, a charitable, non-profit foundation that was established to advance, support and promote the protection, preservation, study and dissemination of the Islamic intellectual, cultural and artistic patrimony by any means deemed appropriate. The Network currently consists of the following sections: Comité Bulletins The Bulletins are a standard resource for the study of the Islamic architecture of Cairo as they describe the restoration work on all its Islamic monuments between 1882 –1953 by the Comité de Conservation des Monuments de l’Art Arabe. They include photographs, drawings, and plans of buildings that have disappeared and of others distorted by later restoration work. For this reason they are invaluable. They also have full descriptions of these monuments and their historical backgrounds. Photo Archive A team of photographers have been documenting photographically the Islamic monuments of Cairo for the digital photo archive of the Network. The aim is to cover all of Cairo and then the rest of Egypt. The second step will be recording the monuments around the Islamic world, with cities such as Fez, Istanbul, Damascus and Isfahan fully exhibited.
