    Product Description:
Vincent Van Gogh voluntarily confined himself to the asylum in Saint-Rimy de Provence from May 1889 to May 1990.
Probably the most difficult period of his entire life, it would also prove to be one of his most creative as an artist. Painted in May 1889, Irises is vibrant in color and energy. Initially confined to the asylum grounds, Vincent paints the world he sees from his room, deleting the bars that obscure his view. In the asylum's walled garden he paints irises, lilacs, and ivy-covered trees. Although subject to intermittent attacks, van Gogh produces 150 paintings, including some of the most significant of his career, during his stay at Saint-Rimy.
Our canvas fine art replicas surpass most reproductions available in the market today. Each canvas is recreated in amazing detail so that even the subtlest brushstroke becomes vibrant. Artist-grade canvas is hand-stretched over wooden stretcher bars by skilled artisans and hand-coated with protectants to insure archival properties.

It is recommended that you have leather gloves when working with the roses to protect your hands from the thorns. We need volunteers on Wednesday or Friday only. Iris Garden:

Kemper Missouri Native Shade Garden: A volunteer interested in native plants and organic gardening would be ideal for this position. Familiarity with Missouri's native forbs is desirable and knowledge of plant growth habits is helpful. The horticulturist is willing to train someone with the above qualifications who is dependable and can handle tough jobs.

I found that I'd inherited a colony numbering hundreds of plants. In fact the colony was so tightly formed that it made a groundcover impenetrable to weeds. Since that day, I've used and recommended Iris cristata extensively as a groundcover to many a gardening friend.
The flower colors and patterns of Iris cristata are one of the most variable that I've ever seen, and there are many named cultivars including several forms of Iris cristata alba. You can see an image at: http://www.mobot.org/gardeninghelp/plantfinder/codea/K700.shtml
I've spent a lot of time photographing many different flower forms of Iris cristata, and have grandiose plans of putting them together in a gallery one of these days when things slow down, so stay tuned.
As the name implies, the specific epithet, cristata means crested and refers to the crest in the falls of the flower. I'd hoped to give you more specific information about the nativity of

Greetings to deliberate or casual visitors. This is the first airing of what I hope will be a series of illustrated pages broadly centred on the topic of gardening. Over the years I have accumulated a number of photos of plants, gardens and garden-related subjects. With the sudden, unexpected offer of free webspace by my service provider, it seemed the ideal opportunity to share some of these. The collection (alright - there's only one topic there as yet) is eclectic. They are subjects that have caught my eye at one time or another, or which have interested me for some time. Welcome to the ragbag.
Let's not waste bandwidth - it's Japanese Irises
Over the next six months, I hope to add bamboos, alpine plants, some unusual species irises and half-hardy bulbs. Beyond that, it would be good to add foliage elements in garden design, Andean climbing plants.... several pages on half-hardy bulbs are nearing completion right now.
