EJAB is a refereed online journal of bibliographies created by the late John Howell, University of Iowa Libraries. Coverage includes any aspect of Africa, its peoples, their homes, cities, towns, districts, states, countries, regions, including social, economic sustainable development, creative literature, the arts, and the Diaspora. Bibliographies must be at least 75 numbered entries, annotations preferred, based on the Chicago Manual of Style (14th edition). Each bibliography must have an introduction and/or preface. Essay bibliographies on specific topics are welcome. Bibliographies with French and/or Portuguese must include diacritics. Send titles and queries to: Edward A. Miner

The Center for Recent United States History (CRUSH) is a consortium including The University of Iowa, the State Historical Society of Iowa, and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library. The intended purpose of this site is to act as a starting point for students and researchers, to provide links to the member institutions and their collections, and to act as a gateway to historical resources elsewhere on the World Wide Web. Local collections also include the manuscript holdings in The University of Iowa Libraries , including the Government Publications Department , the department of Special Collections , and the Iowa Women's Archives . Iowa City Public Library
    Residents of Iowa City and rural Johnson County, not served by another public library, are issued free library cards. Also honored are cards from any library participating in Iowa's Open Access Program. Non-residents and Residents of University Heights may purchase cards.
Coralville Public Library
    Free library cards may be obtained by residents of Coralville, Iowa City, Solon, Oxford, North Liberty and rural Johnson County with an I.D. and proof of current address. Library cards from Iowa libraries that participate in the Open Access Program will also be honored. Other interested borrowers and residents of University Heights may purchase a card.
    The library and archives maintain a large collection of materials related to the history of Iowa and the Upper Midwest. The collection includes 210,000 volumes, 35,000 reels of microfilms, 6,000 sheets of maps, 1.5 million photographs, 4,000 autographs, 8,000 linear feet of manuscripts, 1,800 reels of oral history tapes, an extensive set of bound Iowa newspapers, plus video tapes, sound recordings, and other ephemera. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday (The archives, photograph, and manuscript collections are closed Saturdays, unless arrangements are made in advance, the reading rooms are closed state holidays and some Saturdays).
