Planned Parenthood of East Central Iowa in Cedar Rapids provides a wide variety of workshops on sexuality issues and family life for parents, youth, schools, churches, and other social/civic organizations. Our Education Department works hard to keep up with the latest information on issues related to sexual health. As a service to the community, a variety of presentations has been developed to provide responsible sex education for parents, families and young people. Programs are also available to provide training in sexuality education for professionals who want to broaden their knowledge of sexuality and related issues.
Anatomy/Puberty
This presentation takes a close look at puberty and basic reproductive anatomy linked to puberty. Topics discussed include physical changes during puberty, similarities and differences in boys and girls during puberty, and male and female reproductive organs. Videos that may be included in this workshop include "Talking About Sex: A Guide for Families." This is an exceptional resource, providing realistic and humorous scenarios about the challenges faced when talking about puberty issues and growing up.
