Estonian Educational Landscape
The Estonian educational system covers pre-school education, basic education, upper secondary or vocational education, and post-secondary education at universities and at other post-secondary institutions. Some schools are funded by private capital, although the majority of schools are funded by state or local government budgets. The education system is divided into three parts:
  • Primary education
  • Secondary education
  • Post-secondary education
The principal objective of Estonia’s educational system is to develop Estonian society into an open learning environment, where every person can be considered as a life long learner. The Education Act, adopted in 1992, states the following as the general goals of education: to promote the development of personality, family and the Estonian nation; to promote the development of national minorities, the Estonian economic, political and cultural life and the preservation of nature in the global economic and cultural context; to teach the values of citizenship; and to set up the prerequisites for creating a tradition of life long learning nation-wide. The most relevant trend in recent years, mainly as a result of the development of private universities and post-secondary institutions, is the continuous growth in the number of students pursuing post-secondary education. The enrolment of public universities has also increased.

Education System in Turkey The Turkish National Educational System is composed of two main sections:
Formal Education means the school system and comprises the institutions of preschool education, primary education, secondary education and higher education. Non- formal education includes all the activities organized outside or alongside the school.
Pre-school education , which is optional, aims at contributing to the physical, mental and emotional development of the children, to help them acquire good habits, and to prepare them for primary education. Pre-school education is given in kindergartens, daycare homes, nursery classes in primary schools and preparatory classes by various ministries and institutions, and by the Ministry of National Education.
Primary education provides children with basic knowledge and ensures their physical, mental and moral development in accordance with national objectives. It generally comprises the education of children in the 6-14 year age group. Eight years of primary education is compulsory for all Turkish citizens who have reached the age of six. This level of education is free of charge in public schools. There are also private schools under state control.
Also, foreign language lessons and elective second foreign language lessons have started to be given beginning from the 4th year of primary education.

The achievement of sustained and equitable development remains the greatest challenge facing humanity today. The essential task of development is to provide an access to resources and opportunities for a better quality of life to all people; but recent years have witnessed rising concern about whether development would lead to serious environmental damages, or whether environmental constraints would limit development. It is, therefore, important to choose policies and programmes that encourage efficient use of resources and adopt technologies that lead to less environmental harm, thus encouraging sustainable development.
To achieve this objective, a reorientation of the education system is required which will lead to a heightened sense of responsibility (both, personal and collective) in individuals towards eco-friendly development. This is possible only when environmental issues are adequately identified, scientifically understood and appropriate technological solutions applied for their mitigation, and sustainable resource utilization methods are promoted into the way people perform their trade, profession or occupation.

The Education System
German public education makes it possible for qualified kids to study up to university level, regardless of their families' financial status.
The German education system is different in many ways from the ones in Anglo-Saxon countries, but it produces high- performing students. Although education is a function of the federal states, and there are differences from state to state, some generalizations are possible. Efforts have been made in the postwar years to make the system more democratic, though some feel that the changes don't go far enough. It's nevertheless possible for a child with the right academic ability to study right up to the university level regardless of the financial status of the family. Among the charges is that it is decided too early, after completion of the 4th grade, whether a child is bound for the universities, and hence for the more prestigious and better paying careers. This rule has been modified somewhat, and it is theoretically possible for a high achieving student to get back on the university track at a later stage. This is not a frequent occurrence though. Children in Germany start school at the age of 6, and from grades 1 through 4 attend elementary school (
