Site Index Office Of International Law The Office of International Law (OIL) is the focal point within the Attorney-General's Department for providing advice and other services on international law. The Office has depth of knowledge, expertise and experience in international law including in the negotiation of international instruments and in the conduct of international litigation. It provides advice on implementation of international law in Australia and on constitutional issues relating to such implementation. It also assists with developing and implementing projects in the international law field and in international and domestic litigation involving international law. The Office consists of two branches. In addition to the more general functions of the Office mentioned earlier, each branch has a number of more specific functions.
