genealogy of Grannan Family from indiana.
http://home.earthlink.net/~dlgrannan/intro.htm
The Grannan History Feel free to send me an email about this web site, about Grannan genealogy, or anything else. Click here to email me. Introduction I started this adventure out of curiosity after my kids were born. I didn't start with any serious, active research project in mind; I simply compiled pieces of information as I came across them. While stationed in Ohio, I had the opportunity to visit the Indiana State Library in Indianapolis where I found a wealth of information to add to my compilation. I also visited a few cemeteries in southern Indiana which added immensley to my information. Soon it turned into a full blown hobby. This is a continuing work in progress. Through the years it will grow as we find more information on past ancestors and add more Grannan generations to the lineup. I will continue to update this as much as possible but I need help. Any copies (current and old) of birth, marriage, or death certificates; pictures, land deeds, old letters, obituaries, and things of this nature are invaluable. Anything you have that you think might remotely help, please let me know. I have numerous blanks to fill in. You may notice there is sometimes information that doesn't seem to have a purpose. The reason for this is that I try to include every bit of information I come across, no matter how trivial it may seem at the time. Someone else may see this particular information and have something to add to it, or it may remind them of something related to it. As I go through old documents, books, etc. it is impossible to tell what will be important and what won't be.

The goal of the USGenWeb project is to create a global library for genealogy research. This library provides electronic versions of genealogical resources and volunteers to answer research questions via the Internet. Through Query and Surname pages, researchers are made aware of those who might have ties to the family being researched, thus the USGenWeb project helps facilitate your research. The USGenWeb project seeks to leverage at the County level a variety of research tools, including Lookups, Queries and Surname lists, and transcriptions of public records, using the wide accessibility of the Internet.             The USGenWeb Project is an outgrowth of the original Ky Gen Web Project. In June, 1996 volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of the web page of the state of Indiana. If you would like to get involved with Indiana USGenWeb, please contact Debby Beheler , State Coordinator or Sharon Craig , Assistant State Coordinator. Volunteers are needed and cheerfully accepted.

OAS_AD('Top'); McCorkle/Hillis/Gooding Connection Last updated: April 10, 2005 Walter McCorkle Washington County, Iowa
Hendricks County, Indiana

Why did Walter McCorkle, who died at the age of 31, name his son Joseph Hillis McCorkle? Walter McCorkle was married in Hendricks County, Indiana but there were few McCorkles in that county. However, next door in Putnam County are many McCorkles. In the 1830 census, William McCorkle and Joseph Hillis were living next door to one another and listed on the same page. Was William McCorkle the father of Walter? Surely, they must be at least cousins! Going back further, we find that Elizabeth Ruth McCorkle married William Hillis. Were their children or grandchildren cousins of our Walter?
Work in Progress with many McCorkles located in the United States.

Edit Your Page I've been collecting genealogical information about my family
for over twenty years. Some of my lines include the following families: Hunt, Coffin, Jones, Stanley, Hill, Ward, White, Jessup, Ricketts, Morris, Mead, Lingrel, Denny, Sykes, Butler, and Myers families.
I'm also collecting genealogical information for my grandchildren. Those families include: Adkins, Winters, Carman,
Harcourt, Bond, Morgan, Quinn, Cowgill, Russell, Shoemaker, Dement, Riddle, Peffley, Hunt, Hockett, and Reynolds.
I've spent the last few years trying to verify the data I have by seeking proper documentation for all the dates and other facts I've found. However I have not been able to find documentation for everything and I encourage anyone
who can add or correct or document the information I have to get in touch with me. I'm most appreciative to those who have shared data with me and I want to give them proper credit for what they've contributed. I'm happy to share what I have with others who are interested in the same families. Information on living persons has been omitted for privacy reasons.
