Oral Surgery Faculty John C. McCabe, D.D.S., M.D. Dr. McCabe is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the School of Dentistry with a secondary appointment in the medical school as Associate Professor of Surgery. Prior to coming to Omaha, Dr. McCabe was an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Columbia University’s School of Dental and Oral Surgery. In addition, he served as Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Bronx, N.Y., and has extensive experience in private practice as well. Dr. McCabe was awarded his M.D. (1990) and D.D.S. (1985) by Columbia University. He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. His areas of clinic interest include orthognathic surgery, reconstructive surgery, implants and bone grafting and dentoalveolar surgery. In recognition of his many contributions, his former residents, colleagues, and friends established the Philip Worthington Lectureship. The Lectureship provides the opportunity to bring an expert oral and maxillofacial surgeon to share his/her knowledge with the residents, faculty and community clinicians.
