Phase I : The Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) began in 1998 to assist students transferring general education course work between Illinois schools. The IAI General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) comprised of 37 to 41 semester hours is for students who are undecided about a major and which four-year school to attend. Students who transfer to Western Illinois University with IAI GECC (37-41 semester hours) verified on their official transcript will have met the University's General Education requirement. Students who have decided on a major should see below Phase II. If you have decided to transfer to WIU, you should consult the WIU catalog and talk to an admission counselor. Phase II : IAI Majors identifies course work students in their first and second year would typically complete. This is for students who have decided on a major but are undecided about which four-year school to attend. Each major may recommend General Education course work to include in the IAI GECC and courses that may count in a specific major. If you have decided to transfer to Western Illinois University, you should consult the WIU catalog and talk to an admission counselor.

Power point presentation
Establishing Performance Indicators to Assess Progress Toward Meeting the Goals of The Illinois Commitment (Action) This item proposes a methodology and process for developing a system of performance indicators that will help assess how well Illinois' system of higher education is meeting the six major goals of The Illinois Commitment. The proposal calls for the development of three levels of indicators: state-level indicators related to Illinois' overall system of higher education; "core" indicators for all institutions; and mission-specific indicators related to each institution's unique role and mission. An advisory committee will be formed to assist with the development of the indicators and related issues. (Presentation by Dan Layzell)

How does transfer work?
Students are given college level credit at a four-year college or university for courses completed at C.O.D. Typically, students can transfer up to two years of coursework from C.O.D. towards an advanced degree (such as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science) at another school.
Do you know your major?
counselor
now to clarify your academic goals and objectives.
Ideally, your coursework at C.O.D. should meet general education requirements and support your chosen major. Certain majors require specific prerequisites or other coursework before you can be admitted. Discuss your intended major with an adviser so courses can be selected appropriately. [top of page] Are you working on an Associate in Applied Science (AAS)? There are many Associate in Applied Science degree programs that have made special agreements with four-year/transfer institutions resulting in easier transitions. For example, National Louis University and Aurora University both have transfer agreements with our Human Services program. Additional agreements exist with other universities. However, if you are pursuing an AAS degree, fully investigate if and where opportunities to transfer exist. Meet with a faculty adviser to insure you understand your options and are on track for transferring.

Dear Friends, Thank you for visiting our website. On the following pages you will find useful information about the 32 members of the Senate Majority Caucus, including their biographies, Senate Committee assignments, district office information and recent news releases. The 93rd General Assembly accomplished many things for the people of Illinois. Among our accomplishments was the passage of legislation creating the Prescription Drug Discount program for senior and disabled citizens, significant funding increases for Illinois' public schools despite the state deficit, equal pay for equal work, an increase in the minimum wage and reforms to the criminal justice system including making Illinois the first state in the nation to require videotaped interrogations in capital murder cases. I have set an equally challenging agenda for the 94th General Assembly with education at the top of the list. The state must willingly shoulder the obligation to provide the best education for all of our children. We must bring about real change to the outrageously inequitable system that funds our public schools. Inequity in funding results in inequities in education.
