Life Planning News
September 2003
"Life Planning News" is based on a comprehensive approach to financial challenges at all life stages. It is based on the belief that skills are developed and added throughout one's lifetime. Life planning is a "holistic" philosophy designed to help people define their personal values and priorities in broad areas including health, leisure, personal growth and productivity and then link financial resources to realize these goals. If you have information to share with colleagues and would like to have it included in Life Planning News, contact Jacque Miller ( jmiller@coop.ext.colostate.edu ) or Judy McKenna ( mckenna@cahs.colostate.edu Thanks to Ellen Audley for helping with this newsletter.

July 1, 2005 Rock County Electric Cooperative Contact: Shane Larson, (608) 752-4550
Media Contact: Melissa Sturges, (816) 221-7500 ext. 233 Shane Larson, CEO of RCECA, said the deal makes good sense for customers and co-op alike. “By growing our member/owner base, RCECA will be better equipped to take advantage of certain economies of scale, enhancing the reliable and efficient service we have provided to members for nearly 70 years,” Larson said. “In addition, the acquisition means thousands of Illinois residents will now enjoy the benefits of local control and cooperative membership.” Larson said RCECA plans to open an office in the South Beloit area and hire additional employees to accommodate this growth. The transaction announced today is expected to close in 2006 upon completion of all regulatory approvals. Rock County Electric Cooperative has reliably served its member-owners in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois since 1937. As a locally owned utility headquartered in Janesville, Wis., RCECA is rooted in the communities it serves. The co-op strives to provide reliable electric service to its member-owners at a competitive price. The cooperative currently serves approximately 6,500 meters in Rock, Dane, Green and Walworth Counties in Wisconsin and Boone and Winnebago Counties in Illinois with nearly 900 miles of distribution line.
