Welcome to Idaho, lets take a look...
Idaho boasts 22 state parks,15 national forests, over 16,000 miles of rivers and streams and more than 2,000 reservoirs and natural lakes. The northern third of Idaho has the greatest concentration of lakes in the West.
    But wait, there's more...
The deepest gorge in the United States - - yes, deeper than the Grand Canyon can be found here along with over 3,000 miles of whitewater - - more than any other state except Alaska.
Idaho also has the largest and the best of natures offerings...
Idaho's remote wilderness has the greatest percentage of land than any other state in the lower 48, the longest river within a state’s borders and the tallest sand dunes on the continent. Enjoy a waterfall larger than Niagara Falls!
    Idaho's Seven Regions
And the hotspots get even better... The world-renowned ski resort of Sun Valley is located in the heart of Idaho. The Craters of the Moon National Monument and Park where astronauts trained for their moon walk are an experience for everyone. Idaho is also rich with Indian heritage. Five tribes call Idaho home and work hard to keep their native traditions alive. If you time your visit right, you can take in one of many pow-wows held throughout the summer - - and even dance in one if you like. After a day of adventuring, an abundance of natural hot springs in which to soak can be found in all around the state. And nature gives us even more...

For such a large region, only 12.9% of the state's total population resides here, resulting in a relatively low density of nine persons per square mile. The low density is attributed to the vast areas of mountains located within the region. Also included in the region are the cities of Idaho Falls, Salmon, Challis, Arco, Rexburg, St. Anthony, and Driggs. This region is well known for its central Idaho mining and upper Snake River Plain farming. Several active mines are found in this region, and much of the state's sugar beet, wheat, and potato crops are grown here. The area boasts many recreational opportunities as well, from rafting on the Salmon River, fishing at Island Park and the Henry's Fork, to skiing at Targhee near Driggs.
