He received his Superintendent Credential from Washington State University in 1997. He taught 3rd and 6th grades in Utah and K-8 in a one-room school in Idaho. Garn then served as an elementary principal in Idaho before he moved to Chewelah School District in 1994. In Chewelah he worked in positions such as technology director, elementary and alternative school principal, and superintendent.
    Campuses
The public schools rest on two sites. One elementary school, a community school, along with the middle and high schools, occupy a 60-acre campus in the City of Sequim. A second elementary school sits on approximately 20-acres, three (3) miles west of Sequim near Carlsborg. The total district population surpasses 25,000 with many people living in housing developments scattered about the area. Sequim, a community of 4,500 citizens, offers most of the conveniences needed by its residents.
