28. ICELAND - Tours, Cars, Air Flights, Hotels
Information about the country's government, travel and tourism, hobbies, culture, history, economy and religion.
http://icelander.virtualave.net/
ICELAND - Tours, Cars, Air flights, Hotels Touring iceland by air, you'd see the country's extreme dimensions are about 305 km (190 mi) from north to south and about 485 km (300 mi) from east to west. Iceland has an area of 103,000 sq km (39,769 sq mi). To view it properly you'd need to rent a car in iceland. Even then you can't traverse every square foot as over 80 percent of the land is unpopulated and covered either with permanent snow and ice fields (glaciers) or has a volcanic surface. To get near these though you often need to take a guided tour of iceland or rent a car. Iceland Travel Related Links Iceland is one of the world's smaller nations with a population of about 265,000. Flights to Iceland land in the capital city of Reykjavik. Tours around Iceland normally start from here. Reykjavik, with more than 60 percent of the population is sheltered in the extreme southwestern portion of the island. Most of the hotels in iceland and the resorts in iceland can be found in Reykjavik. Due to Iceland's strategic location in the middle of the Atlantic, it is located on major shipping and air lanes of the North Atlantic Ocean, and it occupies a unique position in the world as one of the first independent, democratic republics.

The Sunday before Labor Day
September 4, 2005 The NJ Convention Center at the Raritan Center, Edison, NJ For our 20th Anniversary event, Scandinavian Fest announced the relocation of ScanFest to an all indoor venue. The NJ Convention and Exposition Center at the Raritan Center was chosen as the site for ScanFest '04 because of it's better ability to accommodate our visitors, performers and vendors. Scandinavian Fest is a not for profit event to celebrate and promote the cultures, histories and current life of the Nordic area countries. It is staffed entirely by volunteers. If you would enjoy the satisfaction of helping to produce the largest Nordic event in the East, and possibly the country, please consider volunteering your help on the day of the fest. The Fest needs people to help with admissions, the Information booth, and to work to keep things on schedule at the 4 performance stages. Besides the satisfaction of supporting a worthwhile event and the fun of meeting and working with the other volunteers and other participants, volunteers of course receive free admission.
