    Economy
In Hungary almost two thirds of the GDP is produced by the service sector. Within this, financial intermediation, real estate, renting and business activities as well as public services (administration, education, health, social work) play a prominent role. Industry ? leaning mainly on manufacturing ? produces about one fourth of the gross value added. Agriculture and construction have a relatively low share. Regions
    Regions of Hungary
Hungary's largestregion is the Southern Great Plain. Four regions have an average size and the smallest one is Central Hungary. The main explanation of that is the predominant role played by Budapest the capital of Hungary (and the natural centre of Central Hungary.

Ambassador Walker and members of the rescue team On September 17, Ambassador Walker joined members of Hungarian Baptist Aid in welcoming home from the United States a team of volunteer rescue professionals who responded in the early days of Hurricane Katrina. As a response to Hurricane Katrina, Hungarian Baptist Aid sent two teams of volunteering professionals to Mississippi and Louisiana. Both teams worked closely with the Disaster Relief Ministry of the Raleigh-based Baptist Convention of North Carolina, a close partner of Hungarian Baptist Aid for several years. In fact, North Carolina Baptist leaders were just concluding an International Search and Rescue Training held by Hungarian Baptist Aid in Budapest when "Katrina" hit the eastern shores of the United States. full text

The British government became concerned about the consumption of alcohol during the First World War . They feared that war production was being hampered by drunkenness. Other governments involved in the conflict were also worried about this problem. In August 1914 Russia outlawed the production and sale of vodka. This measure was a complete failure, as people, unable to buy vodka, produced their own. The Russian government also suffered a 30% reduction in its tax revenue. Attempts to reduce alcohol consumption were also made in Germany, Austria-Hungary, France and Italy. In Britain, David Lloyd George , the Chancellor of the Exchequer, led the campaign against alcohol. In January 1915, Lloyd George claimed that Britain was "fighting German's, Austrians and Drink, and as far as I can see the greatest of these foes is Drink." Lloyd George started a campaign to persuade national figures to make a pledge that they would not drink alcohol during the war. In April 1915

    Hungary develops m-government services
    eGovernment News – 04 November 2004 – Hungary – eServices for citizens
The Hungarian authorities are increasingly using mobile government (m-government) for the delivery of public services. With a penetration rate of 81% against 30% for computers, mobile phones are a highly inclusive technology in Hungary. This widespread use of mobile phones has prompted the country’s public authorities to develop mobile government services through SMS and WAP technologies and to introduce mobile phones into public administration procedures. The first successful Hungarian m-government service – a special vehicle history report available via a premium rate SMS service run by the Ministry of Interior – was established over a year ago. Since then, numerous other mobile phone-based services have been launched in the country, including payment of parking fees, notification of school results, notification of processed forms, and application to make use of public premises.
