Sumerians
The Sumerian texts are the oldest literature in history. Sumerian inscriptions, in cuneiform, have been found on tens of thousands of pieces of pottery, on clay cylinder seals, and on clay tablets. Most of the tablets come from the great temples of Drehem and Umma and date from the Ur III dynasty (22nd-21st centuries BC), but there are also First Babylonian Dynasty fragments (20th-17th centuries BC) and later Babylonian and Assyrian pieces. Texts comprise royal inscriptions, letters, economic, administrative and agricultural documents and literary texts. Sumerian Links Sections:

A solar deity is a deity who represents the Sun . People have worshipped the Sun and solar deities for all of recorded history . Hence, many beliefs and legends have been formed around this worship. Although many sources contend that solar deities are generally male, and the brother, father, husband and/or enemy of the lunar deity (usually female), this is not cross-culturally upheld, as sun goddesses are found on every continent. The dualism of sun/male/light and moon/female/darkness is indeed found in European traditions that derive from Orphic and Gnostic philosophies, but many other European cultures saw the sun as a maternal force, as did many other cultures. In some cultures, such as the Scandinavian (whose sun goddess Sunnu gives us the English word for Sun ), some scholars have misread the primary texts in order to declare a male divinity the "sun god." Here is a list of solar deities:

    Passau, The missing entry.
On Friday April 2nd, we played in Passau. The venue was called Winterhaus, and it was set up by Josh who is an old friend of Mark Edwards. The venue, people, town, and our show were a high-light so far on this tour. The vibe was especially great for our music. The place was packed, with attentive folks, and they seem to like the eclectic collection of music. Josh and his fiance’ invited us over to stay at their lovely flat, which is part of an renovated school, located across the Danube river. They are set to be married at the local cathedral that happens to house the largest pipe organ in the world.Nice times, nice places. A note on an earlier experience. The difference between the borders of Czech Republic and Germany is like night and day. The Czech side is a bit chaotic and disorganized, with prostitiutes lining the side roads to service the truckers who sometimes have to wait months to get through the border. The German side is so organized even the cords of wood are neatly stacked on the side of the perfectly coifed farm house, with it’s finely divided rows and patches of farmland. Here is a perfect quote from the Polish zine, Plotki, (www.plotki.net), which Christian picked up at The Globe café and bookstore, that, even though it describes the difference between Portugal and Europe ,the effect is the same.

    Sear Bliss - Forsaken Symphony
CD A DARK EAGLE WILL RISE FROM THE HUNGARIAN SKY!
The new album from SEAR BLISS, entitled FORSAKEN SYMPHONY is here!
Prime yourself for something special from this six demon ensemble. It is sinister, wintry and ethereal Black Metal music for those who have the courage to cross the threshold into the magical world of SEAR BLISS.
Musically, FORSAKEN SYMPHONY is unquestionably the darkest and most dominant album the band has ever done. There is a strong connection to the sound and the mood of their first album Phantoms. The detail that Csaba Csejtei, former guitar player and songwriter, returned to SEAR BLISS, contributes to the similarity. You can find those dreamy and enthralling melodies that made Phantoms such a successful debut in the Black Metal underground. The band's new approach develops their keyboard work further than previous albums. A tuba and brass section adds an even more bombastic classical touch. And the Black Metal frame of SEAR BLISS shows its purest shape on FORSAKEN SYMPHONY.
The sound of the album is left intentionally raw and unpolished to find the definite atmosphere that fits comfortably to the concept. It is Black Metal, but in a truly unique arrangement.

    51. SEAR BLISS

One of the blackened gems coming out from Red Stream Records is Grand Destiny by Sear Bliss of Hungary. Dark, extreme metal may be heard from this unique bandand there is even a mighty horn section involved! Curious? Read on...
Introduce yourself, tell me what you do in Sear Bliss, and how long the band has been together. I'm Andras and I play the bass and do the vocals in Sear Bliss. I formed the band in 1993 so next year will be the 10th anniversary of Sear Bliss. What is the music scene like in Hungary and are there a lot of places for metal bands to play? Is it difficult to get gigs outside of Hungary? Hungary is quite a small country so the scene is small too but there are some very promising and unique bands in every genre of metal over here. Yes, there are a couple of good clubs where the metal bands can play. Since people are really enthusiastic at the gigs in Hungary, it's always good to play over here. Fortunately for Sear Bliss it's not difficult to get gigs outside of Hungary. We toured Europe with Marduk in 1997 and it was a good start. Since then we have many contacts so we play in Holland, Germany, Belgium, etc. each year. Now we are planning an European tour in October." What is the story behind the title Grand Destiny? Is it a concept album and where did you get the ideas for the lyrics?

SACRAL VALUES OF Somogy COUNTY Forbearance between the different religions has got a particular role in Somogy , for in this historic county it had been the most difficult to firmly establish Christianity following the foundation of the Kingdom of Hungary in about 1000 AD. Ancient beliefs, ancient ways of life, and ancient customs brought by the ancestors of Hungarians from their faraway land of origin in Asia, had found a strong protector here in the person of chieftain Koppány, who was ready to start an open revolt. The area controlled by chieftain Koppány had spread between the river Dráva and Lake Balaton, mainly on the hills of today's Somogy County. Koppány's encampment had been located in the place where the Benedictine abbey was founded later, on today's Somogyvár and Kupavárhegy This had been the place from where Koppány set up his attack against the Christian king. During the open clash the army of St. Stephen strengthened by German armour knights had defeated the "light cavalry" of the Somogy forces. Perhaps the most significant archaeological monument of Southern Transdanubia can be found at the former headquarters of chieftain Koppány and Somogy County, at
