Training HTML Intermediate Course Description A course to extend beyond basic technical HTML skills and learn techniques, workarounds and good practice in building web page layouts. HTML (Hyper Text Mark-up Language) is the language used to create web pages. Authoring packages create code automatically and sometimes this leads to mistakes or unexpected results. This course gives delegates greater understanding of the possibilities of HTML and introduces the benefits of working closer with code. This course may be run as one or two days depending on topics required.

Introduction
After conquering the initial hurdles in creating webpages, users usually get frustrated with the little control over page layout offered by basic HTML. We will discuss here various options for handling layout, as well as other effects and interactions typically added to sites that have advanced beyond the beginnings. Sensible use of these techniques always has the user in mind and focuses not on the visual effect, but foremost on the advantages in usability these features bring for the site's visitor. Just as large images will turn off most visitors due to their long download times, no matter how pretty they may be, in the same way e.g. a frames-layout that makes part of the text unreachable for users with a large font preference is bad site design.
